I’m looking for some assistance before I go and break something that will end up costing me more than this Security System and Remote Start.

For starters, I’d like to thank everyone’s posts on this site… I would be this far in the install if it wasn't for everyone here.

Problem description:
     Remote Start works (with Relay) but with Major problems
     Parking Lights won’t flash on arm/disarm of the security system

Hardware:
     Viper 5904
     PKALL
     Relay SPST 30A

Park Light Jumper = (-) Negative

Wiring:
H1/1 Red --->   WHITE/ Red 12V/30A @ Ignition

H1/5 White ---> Green @ Parking Light Switch
H1/6 Orange --->      n/c

H3/1 Pink --->   BLACK/ Red @ Ignition
H3/2 RED / White ---> WHITE/ Red 12V/30A @ Ignition
H3/3 Orange ---> WHITE/ Green @ Ignition (Accessory Output)
H3/4 Violet ---> GREEN/ Black (Car Side) @ Ignition
H3/5 Green ---> GREEN/ Black (Key Side) @ Ignition
H3/6 Red --->   WHITE/ Red 12V/30A @ Ignition
H3/7 Pink/White ---> Blue / YELLOW @ Ignition
H3/8 Pink/Black --->      n/c
H3/9 RED / Black ---> WHITE/ Red 12V/30A @ Ignition

H2/1 Pink/White ---> n/c   Ignition
H2/2 BLACK/ White ---> Ground
H2/3 Blue/White ---> n/c   2nd Status/Rear Defogger
H2/4 GREEN/ Black ---> GREEN/ Black OEM Alarm Disarm
H2/5 RED / White ---> n/c        Trunk
H2/6 Green ---> GREEN/ YELLOW   Door Trigger
H2/7 BLACK / YELLOW ---> Blue   Dome Light Trigger
H2/8 BROWN / Black ---> GREEN/ Red   Horn
H2/9 Dark Blue ---> PKALL blue/white H2/3       Status Output
H2/10 Pink ---> n/c  Ignition 1
H2/11 WHITE/ Black ---> n/c       Aux3
H2/12 Violet ---> n/c Door Trigger Input
H2/13 WHITE/ Violet ---> n/c      Aux1
H2/14 Violet/Black ---> n/c      Aux2
H2/15 ORANGE / Black ---> n/c   Aux4
H2/16 Brown ---> Blue        Brake Shutdown Input
H2/17 Gray ---> Hood Pin
H2/18 Violet / YELLOW ---> BLACK/ White Starter Output
H2/19 Blue ---> n/c        Trunk Pin
H2/20 Gray/Black ---> n/c Diesel Wait
H2/21 WHITE/ Blue ---> n/c Turbo Timer
H2/22 Orange ---> n/c   Accessory output
H2/23 Violet/White ---> n/c Tachometer
H2/24 GREEN / WHITE ---> Violet OEM Alarm Arm

PKALL
     D2D ---> Viper

H2/1 Violet/White ---> Light Green IMO ECM
H2/2 Yellow/Black ---> Blue/White (ECM Side)     IMI ECM
H2/3 Blue/White ---> Viper H2/9 Dark Blue      Status

H3/1 Light Green ---> Blue/White (ECM Side)      IMI ECM
H3/2 ORANGE / Brown ---> Blue/White ( Car Side)      IMI ECM

In the above configuration the remote starter engages accessory, but never turns over the engine with an error “Low Battery” (9 Flashes)

Next Step:
Starter Relay Wiring – Automotive SPST 30A
Viper H2/18 ---> 85
Tacoma Starter BLACK/ White ---> 30
12V (Fuse 30A) ---> 86 & 87

Result:
     Remote Starter works, BUT engine light says ON and going from reverse to Neutral or Drive to Neutral kills the engine. Relay = Removed :)

Thanks a head of time for any and all reply’s and as I like to say “If everything just worked, then I wouldn't learn a thing.”

im no alarm install expert , but i've been doing a little research myself on a diy 13 tacoma using viper 5704 & pkall, and came across G Key 13 tacoma w/5904&pkall.

After looking at your connections and comparing to othe 5904&pkall setup looks like you missing these two..?

H2/23 Tach Inpiut-blk/white-data link connector, white 16 pin plug, pin 9

and

H2/24 (-) OEM Alarm Arm Output-purple-driver kick, gray 10 pin plug, pin 4

Did u use 3 diodes for you unlock/lock door triggers?Let me know if it worked out for you, so I could follow your wiring diagram, because so far I'm confused because some use diodes and some dont mention it...?Newbie here lol

Good Questions.

I'm planning on running with a Virtual TACH once I get the remote start running solid. And H2/24 is correct going to Violet(aka Purple).

The door locks worked out of the box, no additional relays required.

My questions also surround what requires a relay and what doesn't... i'm set to go to Fry's electronics as soon as some nice poster can give me an idea on what I'm messing up on here.

Thanks

huh.. this whole forum thing isn't working out as well as I had hoped.

Does anyone have anything that can help me get the pkall remote starting working?

Not sure of the Light Green and the Blue/White wires you are using for the PKALL. See the link below: Then open up the install guide.

https://www.xpresskit.com/product.aspx?productid=196

EDIT:  I see there is a wiring difference between the PKALL and a Fortin KeyOverride and between 4cyl and 6 cyl.

I did wire the PKALL to the 6 cyl specs. The truck starts and runs (The check engine light stays on the whole time), when driving and shifting from reverse to drive (and Drive to Reverse) the engine gets killed regardless of using the remote start or just the key.

As a follow up, Everything works! Original post... that is so long as you don't have any user error.
