I have a 2004 chevy sikverado with a Viper 5704 remotestart, DBALL connected D2D and I am going to add a smartstart vsm 200 to it.I was loking at a directed diaghram but it doesnt specify if I need to connect directly to the brain or the alarm or if only connect D2D to the DBALL or if I need to connect it to both.need help! Thank You!

It should connect directly to the Viper 5704 brain, right next to the Thermistor/Temp Sensor. I believe it's labeled in the install manual as the "Bitwriter/SmartStart Port"
