Hey guys, I had a viper 5704 installed on my 04 Toyota 4runner sport with factory keyless entry the other day. Everything is great except for the remote start activates the factory alarm to start honking and flashing the lights while running. Now if I manually turn the key to unlock the door it stops, or if I unlock it, it will stop honking. I had my installer install a bypass in the drivers door but its still doing it. Any ideas? Thanks

Sounds like the installer didn't connect the keysense wire. No need to go into the doors for this.
Keysense GREEN/ YELLOW - ignition harness
Notes: Using the status output to trigger this wire during remote start will disarm the factory alarm without unlocking the doors.

Ok I told the installer about it and he can't remember if he did or didn't and he's going to look into it. The guy was awesome and did really great work but I wasn't sure about this issue. He said sometimes with Japanese vehicles the factory alarms don't play we'll with the aftermarket ones so he did the bypass last night. The weird thing is that it only honks after about a minute of waiting. But if you start it within that first minute it doesn't honk.

Not to be an ass but that is bull. If you properly integrate the system you should have no problems. It is people like this that are hurting our industry. Take the time and do the install properly and be proud to finish a system that works right every time.

He really did an awesome job as far as everything else and also did my Yukon with zero issues. I looked for the key sense wire and didnt see it, I saw some in the box with the leftover wires but I couldn't see if it was installed and didn't want to take anything apart since he's going to look at it again anyways. Is it a dark green with yellow stripe, very thin wire? I've installed a couple alarms in my day and hated every second of it so I finally just hired it out.

So which wire does it need to be connected to?

There are two wires on the Viper 5704 you could use for the Keysense wire. All depends if you are already using them for something else. Dark Blue (-) 200mA Status Output - could be used for the transponder bypass module Blue/White (-) 200mA 2nd Status / Rear Defog - could be used for Rear Defog

What does the OP's last post mean?
Kregg and Frank are telling you that the GREEN/ YELLOW key sense is connected to either the dark blue H2/9 or blue/white at H2/3 one of these will be connected to your by-pass you can diode split and wire directly to the GREEN/ YELLOW or use the other.
I suggest from your questions that you let the installer do this except please note auto enhancers post.
I agree with him.

Ok I wasn't sure if the green and yellow wire was part of the viper wiring or the factory wiring. Ill show the installer these posts. Thanks again for all of your help

Well there's no green and yellow wire on either of the two harnesses attached to the ignition. Am I missing something?

Ok I'm an idiot, I found the key sense wire, its black from the ignition harness to a connector on the column where it turns to green and yellow, now I'm trying out the two suggested wires
