you can start by posting what wires you have connected at the ignition harness. if the starter kill isnt working then you either have the wrong starter wire(did you test with a volt meter?)or you didnt split the starter wire with the purple and green wires from the remote start heavy gauge harness.

Everything is connected right. I have no volts coming from the Brain. So I have 12 going in from the key but nothing coming out of the alarm. So the green wire keyside power going in. purple wire starer nothing.

OK, if you won't help us by posting your present H3 wire connections, I'll take a few wild, blind guesses :

H3/2, H3/6 and H3/9 are not all connected to +12V constant.

The Viper is still in Manual Transmission Mode and the Viper is giving the 7 flash error code.

The Neutral Safety wire is not connected to chassis ground or the Neutral Safety Switch is not plugged in or the Neutral Safety Switch is not set to ON and the Viper is giving the 8 flash error code.

I'll keep trying. That's why I asked about the confirmation.

Are you getting any chirps from the siren to indicate you are in the menus?  Do you have one of the door triggers wires connected? Either the Neg or Pos door trigger? The unit need to see one of those to enter into the menus.

And going back to the starter kill not working. I disconnected every wire on the 10 pin harness, reconnected them all, turned the key it worked, but not for very long. Tested all the wires at the harness with the key in the start position I got 12 volts. I have a good connection but it still doesn't work.

how are your wires connected at the main ignition harness? if they arent soldered then that is your problem.

I have power at the harness (at the brain) . so the connection to the wires are good.

Doesn't really answer the previous question.  All experienced installers will agree that T-Taps, ScotchLocks and any "quick connect" type connector will not give reliable service.  Making quality solder connections will remove that issue completely.

ok but I have power. regardless of how it's connected with 12 going to the unit it should work. I don't have 12 going out to the starters.

While it is not unheard of, I would place a Viper "out of box failure" at the tail end of my list of things that could be wrong with my installation.

The Viper is a sophisticated system ( "designed for professional installation", as mentioned in their guides ) that involves more than just connecting the wires.  Things like option programming, Passlock2 bypass, Tach or Virtual Tach learning, hood pin, brake status and the Neutral Safety wire must all be addressed ( and sometimes in order ) to complete the install.

everything else works. that's why I believe it's a faulty system. and it's not complicated ive installed plenty of viper alarms but this is my first 5704. i didn't know if this system was known to have issues! and if anyone could offer advice to trouble shooting this system.

When you press the unlock button in changing it into Automatic mode do you get 2 chirps?  Are you still getting any flashes from the parking lights? How Many?  The 5704 is really no different on the wiring than a 5701 or a 5902. Do you have an extra unit you can plug in?  HAve you programed the DB-All?  Is it  W2W or D2D ?

what confuses me about your post is that you say you get 12v on one side of the starter but not the other... is this during remote start or is this happening when you try the starter kill? if this is what happens during remote start then maybe the harness is mis-pinned... maybe the green and the purple are switched around as a factory defect or maybe they fell out and someone else put them back in the wrong order.

Not during remote start. Wheni try to turn it over at the ignition.

I'll try to get another brain to swap out... it worked for a short period of time but then stopped and all the connections are still good.

Did you ever confirm how you are making your connections? Soldered or not?

Well after some trouble shooting I have a found the issue when the pink wire (ignition 1) is disconnected the starter kill works as it should. And vise versa.

Did you ever put a DMM on whichever wire in the Escalades' ignition harness that the 5704's H3/1 Pink wire was connected to?  Obviously, the Viper 5704 H3/1 is crucial for remote start and some alarm functions.
