Hi,

I'm about to install a Viper 5704 along with an xpresskit PKTX bypass on my 2012 F150 ecoboost. I have found all the wiring information on here already but I read somewhere that I will need some sort of relay setup to disarm the OEM alarm. Is this true? If so, are there any guides on how to do this?

I'm hoping there is nothing extravagant that needs to be done in order to get the alarm/remote start up and running. Thanks for any info you can provide.

There are a couple of options. Search the downloads section for 2010 Ford and you will see a diagram for it. 2010+ Fords use a new anti-theft system.

Another option is to use a Fortin EVO-ALL module instead of the PKTX (i am not a fan of Xpresskit, even though the PKTX is a rebadged Fortin module).
The EVO-ALL controls everything on those newer Fords. Factory alarm, door locks, Door Status, Retained Accessory and immobilizer key code too. I've done a few newer Fords with the EVO-ALL and it saves you so much time and works awesome!!

Even Fortin says in there install guide that some Fords they cant disarm through CAN. Basically on newer Fords you have to pulse ignition and sometime accessory to disarm the alarm. When remote starting it will do this already but to unlock you need to use a relay also. You will have to get into the vehicle and set off the alarm and then pulse ignition to see if it shuts off, if not then you will also have to pulse accessory. I have done any of these newer fords yet, just going off of what idatalink, Directed, and Fortin all say.

So how exactly would I run the relay? Trigger it off the unlock circuit? Doesn't the viper have an alarm disarm circuit already? What stops you from running that to the ignition if that's what it needs?

Sorry for double posting, most of the wiring tables I've seen list alarm disarm as not applicable so I'm just lost.

Yes, use your unlock or alarm disarm output from the r/s to trigger a relay to pulse ignition.

I pulse unlock, ignition, key sense , and gwr
I've yet to take the time to eliminate one by one the exact combination.
But that usually gets it done.
You could RSR it if your a fan of directed
And elimate half the wiring

Ok I think I'm going to return the pktx and pick up the EVO-ALL instead. Another question, autotoys advised me that the evo-all can be reflashed to support D2D and work with a viper alarm without going wire to wire on everything. Has anyone tried this or had success with it? I don't mind going w2w if I have to as I think the evo-all still looks like the best option either way, but it sure would be nice to eliminate all those connections if they really do have the ability to support the D2D link.

Just trying to narrow down all the options before I get ahead of myself and wire things I don't need to.
