Hello.  I've installed a Viper 5704 into my 1998 GMC Sierra.  The install has gone great, and everything but a couple items are working great.  I need some help installing the door triggers and dome light supervision wires.  Can anyone help??

- wiring diagram tells me to wire the door trigger wire to the purple wire at the headlight switch. Wouldn't this get wired to the door switch?  Also, i have (2) wires from the alarm, a (+) door trigger wire and a (-) door trigger wire.  Would these both need to be hooked up, if so where?

- where would I hook up the domelight supervision wire? What does this do exactly?

I appreciate everyone's help!

H1/5 set POS (+) (read your instructions to brown at headlight switch.
H2/6 Green to purple (-) at headlight switch.
Ignore H2/12 violet.
H2/7 BLACK / YELLOW to grey (-) at headlight switch.
Ease of installation locates these wires at the headlight switch.
Dome supervision brings on your dome light when you unlock the Sierra via the 5704 remote for up to 1 minute or until you turn the key to ignition.

The h2/6 wire is connected to my purple wire at the headlight switch, but when I lock my doors the remote says I have a door open. I haven't connected the domelight supervision wire yet though, could that be the problem?

Make sure H2/6 Actually goes to ground when you open a door.

So when the door is open i should get a (-) reading right? When the door is closed, does that reading go back to zero, or would it go back to zero when the dome goes off?

Should go back to 0 reading when the door is closed assuming there's no built in dome delay ex factory.
But then if wired correctly it shouldn't make any difference.
Even if there is a dome delay you can program the Viper to ignore it.
Menu 2 level 4 program off.
The purple wire that I mentioned, check that out as well. You didn't assume and join without prior testing did you?

So the problem I'm running into now is that I can't program a setting through the control center. They say to open a door, turn the ignition on then off, then press and hold the control center button to activate the menus, but when I do that, the valet mode comes on??? Anyone ever ran into this problem?posted_image

Running around in circles here sunshine, the unit isn't seeing a ground through the door trigger, that's why it goes into valet rather than program mode.
