This is my first remote start alarm install, and my first post on this forum. I have gathered a lot of information from this forum already that has tremendously helped me out with my install, but unfortunately i am stuck on this issue i am now having and cant seem to find an answer.

After installing the alarm everything seemed to work just fine except the remote start. The parking light flashed 7 times indicating it was still in manual mode. So i tried to re-program the unit for an automatic transmission and while in the process i think i did it wrong and put the system in some kind of weird mode. I cant get it to go into any mode now except valet on/off. If i hold down the program button on the control panel after turning the ign to on/off with door open it doesn't do anything after holding it down even for over a few minutes. Unless it is, but the unit just isn't chirping/siren like it did the first time (it chirps if i arm/disarm or panic). I have been looking for any type of information that could help me out, but haven't come up with much. I tried resetting the unit through the steps shown in the manual, but that requires going through the programming which i cant get into. Ever disconnected my battery, and back up battery for a few hrs and that didn't help since the unit has everything stored in memory.

I thought maybe the system was not recognizing the door was open, but then again it was responding the first time, and i would assume if it wasn't recognizing the door open then i should have issues when i arm the system. I even tried opening different doors, or both driver and passenger doors and it didn't do anything. The first initial time going into programming my driver/passenger doors were open.

Process used for programming automatic:
1 ) turn car to ignition then off.
2) hold valet button until it chirps 3 times
3)Release valet push once release and then push and hold . On remote hit lock , it will chirp 2xs .
3) turn car to ignition then off and it should remote start

Open door, THEN:-
Process used for programming automatic:
1 ) turn car to ignition then off.
2) hold valet button until it chirps 3 times
3)Release valet push once release and then push and hold . On remote hit lock , it will chirp twice.
3) turn car to ignition then off and it should remote start

Thats the same process i used as stated in my post. I didn't do it correctly at first and now the system doesn't do anything (no chirping, and no blinking led) when trying to program it even after holding down the button for a few minutes. The unit does chirp when arm/disarm and led does blink when system is armed. The only time I get any response from control panel is when I put the alarm in valet mode on/off and it indicates on the 2way.

I tried resetting all features and followed procedure through manual, but I'm not getting any response when doing it since I have to go through programming from the control center.

Thanks

This is what I'm doing:

1) open door
2) turn ignition on then off
3) hold done control center program button until it chirps 3 times, but it doesn't ever chirp even after I have been holding it down for a few minutes. The first initial time I attempted after install I was getting the blinking led and chirps.

Are you now in Valet mode? LED on constantly?

No, valet mode is off. The only thing the control center is allowing me to do is turn valet on and off. My led is only on when the system is armed from the two way. As far as I have noticed when valet goes from on/off the lock pad on the two way either goes to empty or full, other than that I can't get anything to work through the control center as far as getting the remote start programmed or even trying to rest the whole thing. Other than that I can arm/disarm alarm just fine, the unit chirps for both and led blinks when armed.

After the install was completed I was getting responses from the control center as far as the system chirping to let me know what was going on, but I'm no getting that anymore.

Only three more things I can think of:-
Pull the fuse at H1/1 for about 5 minutes.
Ground the green at H2/6.
Re-pair the remotes.

Thanks for the help

I grounded the h2/6 and now I can get into programming. I switched it to automatic, but now I'm getting 8 flashes for neutral switch. The neutral switch it just 2 wires for the on an off switch that plugs into the brain, and I have switched on and still giving me 8 flashes. This is really starting to annoy me.

Make sure the BLACK/ white at H2/2 is properly grounded, cut the switch off and join the two ends together coming from the R/S. I've never seen the point of that switch.
N.B. Your unit isn't seeing a door switch TEST. OR do a voltage test between H1/1 and H1/2. Poor ground?

Door trigger might be wrong, On Toyotas I always use the wire listed as dome supervision; dash fuse box, black 13 pin plug (1E), pin 9.
You've only connected AFIK to left hand front door so useless as an alarm anyway.

I got it working I ended up cutting off the switch and grounding both wires and it worked. I don't thinks that's what your supposed to do, but I'm not sure either.

Should I leave the h2/6 grounded or put it back to door trigger?

Thank you I really appreciate all the help.

I got everything working. I ended up doing as you suggested by cutting off the switch and grounding wires, and I hooked up the h2/6 to the dome supervisor and everything is working perfect.

Thanks again.

I had the exact same problem, I could not enter program mode to pair my remotes. the -door pin wire from the vehicle was hooked up to the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) on the alarm system, but the actual -door pin status wire for the alarm system was not.

the procedure to enter the program mode is to open the door, turn ignition on and press the control centre button once, then hold till you hear a chirp. The door sensing wire was not hooked up so the procedure would not work.

I hooked the green H2/6 wire up to the same wire i used for the RAP, (which is the -door pin wire) and voila! the program procedure works every time. You could hook that green wire up to ground and try it out first. this wire however is the wire that tells the alarm that the door is open and sounds the alarm is someone breaks in while the system is armed.

Hope this post helps someone.

Would this instruction works on this Viper 4806 2-Way Responder LED Remote Start System? thanks.

Having the same problem. I installed teh viper 5704, dball2 with CHTHD2 harness.
All remotes (factory and viper) work to lock/unlock arm/disarm but the remote start gives me the 7-flash error. LED on control flashes when armed, nothing when disarmed. When I perform the process to enter feature programming mode, nothing happens, no chirps, no lights, nothing.

Should I Pull the fuse at H1/1 for about 5 minutes and ground the green at H2/6. I thought with the CHTDH2 harness I wouldn't have to connect anything other than the 12v and ground from the alarm main harness and the WHITE/ black and GREEN/ black from the CHTHD2 harness for the hood switch and parking lights respectively.

Please forgive my ignorance but what is H2/6? Harness 2, wire 6? How do I know which harness is H2?

Thanks in advance!

You can't enter programming mode with out the door trigger and ignition input to the unit so one of the 2 is missing.

It's labeled in the install guide Link here:https://pdf.ampire.de/viper/N5704_2011-09b_web.pdf

Well my alarm and remote start seem to be working fine but I still have a couple issues. For now I do not have the hood switch or parking light wires connected from the CHTDH2 harness.

The remote start works with the factory remote, but not with the viper remote. That gives me the 7 click error which I think means that the alarm is set to manual transmission mode (MTS). But as I stated before I the control center is not reacting when I push the button after turning the key to ignition and then back off. I did connect the wire to the door trigger and the alarm sounds if the door is open, so I don't think the problem is that the alarm doesn't recognize the open door.

Please help!

You need to verify the ignition input is getting back to 5704 from the vehicle. H3/1 has to be hooked up in order to enter programming mode.

Or use a Bitwriter to change the settings on the 5704.

Thanks. I hooked up the pink wire from the remote start harness which allowed me to access the control center programming. I programmed for automatic transmission and then started getting an 8 flash error. So, I grounded the BLACK/ white wire from the 24-pin harness (wire 13) and still got the error. I realized it was because the on/off switch was not connected to the alarm. I didn't connect it because the CHTDH2 harness for the dball2 also has the on/off switch along with the hood switch, so I figured I didn't have to connect the switch for the alarm.

Now everything seems to be working. But, I am curious about the on/off switch for the dball2 CHTHD2 harness. What is that for? If I turn it on/off the remote start still works. Cheers!

Its for RSR installs on vehicles that already have OEM installed R/S. Too shutdown the DEI remotes from activating the OEM R/S VIA the DBALL/2/Pro.

Well I said everything seemed to be working fine, but that was before I actually got in to drive away. As soon as I let the emergency brake off, the car shuts down. I did ground the bkack/white on pin13 of the 24pin harness (h3?). Also, the alarm goes off after a short time if I remote start with the alarm active.

Scratch that, it's not when I release the ebrake, it's when I put my foot on the brake pedal, the car shuts down.

Try turning on the ignition when you enter the vehicle. If it's a PTS this may be the norm.
