If you can, post up the wire connections from the Viper install manual. That will at least give us a head start to help you link the 2 diagrams together. A lot of us tend to be busy and as much as we love to help, we don't always have time to search for the manual and then make up a complete write-up for wire to wire connections. But if you can get us at least half way there, it will save us time.

Use this format:

Connector 1:
Pin (if available) - Wire Color - Wire description (ie ignition, status out, etc)

Nice one Kenny.
Think I'll copy and paste your post as a template. Like I do with Kregg's version, you'll get a copyright credit.

It's NOT an R/S Kenny, just an entry level alarm with the 1st. generation 2 way.

If it has the following wires;
Blue
Green
Red
Black
Join red and black to the 350 ground (black) and red 12V+ after the fuse.
Join green and blue then Y connect to the 350 Blue.
Use diodes, bands away from the 350. As per the install diagram or look at this:-

ok so when i arm the alarm and open the doors the alarm doesnt activate i cant find the door trigger wire on the truck to hook it up to
and the remote unlock and lock wont work

Posted By: offroadzj
Date Posted: March 01, 2013 at 3:33 PM
The door trigger is at the power window switch... inside the driver door. The lock and unlock requires a bit of extra work unless a bypass is used. See Tech Doc 1601 (search the Downloads/Manual section on this site) for the lock / unlock information.

Stock power locks and power windows has nothing to do with the door lock and door trigger connections. The door trigger still requires you to go into the door and the lock / unlock still requires the Tech Doc 1601 wiring setup. It is a royal PITA on that truck and you are 100x better off spending the extra money on a bypass to handle it all for you. Otherwise you are in for a world of hurt if you haven't had the pleasure of wiring up the 1601 yet...

i read the 1601 i dont inderstand it were is the relay i need to hook up to just to have driver door unlocked

Posted By: howie ll
Date Posted: March 01, 2013 at 6:21 PM
You will need two more relays if you're talking driver priority unlock but frankly I don't think you will be able to do this.
You will also need 1N4004 quenching diodes across all those relays.

Which unit are you trying to install? I don't know a ton about DEI stuff but doesn't the XK01 do the locks as well? Or did you get the XK01 instead of the 1700G? I believe the XK01 needs to be flashed with the correct firmware for the vehicle(but I don't know that for sure).

i got both but the xk01 didnt wanna work i went n got it flashed n programed for the truck but no luck so i ordered the 1700g i just hadnt had time to install it

The XK01 should work fine for that. Was it flashed with the AMDL v6.00 firmware? Did you try going W2W? That bypass should be a walk in the park on that truck.

I don't see anything about how to reset it, but have you tried just setting it as you did the first time? It may allow you to change the vehicle type without resetting. When you plug the harness in, then turn the ignition on, the LED will most likely flash 4 times (indicating the vehicle is already set). Try pressing and releasing the programming button to see if it changes. If so, once on type 4, save the programming by holding the programming button until the LED turns on solid then start the truck.

Give that a shot and see if it works. Hopefully it does.

So it won't let you re-program it? I would try contacting Xpresskit to see if they can possibly help you reset it. They may give you trouble though because you are not an authorized installer... some companies will only offer tech support to authorized dealers / installers.

If that doesn't work you may just have to use the 1700G instead (or have the XK01 reflashed)

it was flashed n ready to go by a autorized dealer he told me jus to wire it up to the alarm n itd start working but i had no luck

You may have to re-flash it in order for it to allow you to reset the vehicle type. I don't work a lot with Xpresskit bypasses so maybe someone has another solution, but I can't find any way to reset it to allow you to set the correct vehicle type.

Sounds good. Glad you were able to get it figured out... just sucks you had to buy another bypass. That is one reason I really prefer the iDatalink bypasses. They have a nice and easy factory reset for cases like this.
