I have a clifford alarm/remote start combo 3.3x. Lately, the remote start is giving me problem
I pressed remote start button to start the car. The light will come on and look like it's about to start, all the lights in the dash come on, heater run, radio is on, parking light is on but it won't crank. It will not try to restart again. I also tried to start the car with the key in the ignition, it does the same thing and won't start. It only works when I started the car with the key, then press the remote start button, all lights will flash one, take the keys out. The car will continue to run.
Another thing i did was removed the main fuse to the brain of the combo, put it back. Then the system works again? It only last for a day or two, sometimes a few weeks. I checked the shutdown diagnosic, the Valet light will flash 5 twice, then flash 4 one time.
Can anyone tell me what could be the problem? Do I need to reprogram the XK05? Thanks

How is the unit grounded?

Grounded to car's others ground cable at the existing bolt at the driver kick.

It is better to use a ring terminal at the factory bolt, but as long as the factory ground wire is large enough it should be ok. Try holding the key to the ignition cylinder and try to remote start it. You can put the key into the ignition but don't turn it. Do you have a tach connection wired?
