Forgive me if this is a stupid question but why does the manual for Viper 3303 say -

NOTE: Always use a fuse within 12 inches of the point you obtain (+)12V. Do not use the 15 A fuse in the harness for this purpose. This fuse protects the module itself.

Does this mean to add another fuse in that line as well as the one already there?

Good installation practise calls for fuses to be within 4"/10cms of the source, be it battery, fuse, ignition loom etc.

The theory being no chance to short out BETWEEN the source and the fuse.
