I had several problems installing my remote start in my truck.  I found a lot of the information here to be helpful however there are a lot of things that were left out.  So, I have decided to share what I have learned.  Hopefully it will be of some help.

I installed a Python 1601 remote start and alarm system in a 2006 GMC Sierra 4 door truck.

#1 Get the good bypass! This is very important.  I tried with the cheap one, and it doesn't even come close to getting the job done.  Spend the extra money get that good one and forget the hassle.  I ended up using the FLCAN, I got it from bestbuy for 100 bucks, they flash programed it for me, and I did have to complete the programming once it was installed.  Easy as pie just follow the directions and it's done.

Now here is the wiring set up.  I am going to list them in order of their harness and then tell you where they go on the truck.

Main Harness H1

1 RED / white trunk release - It's a truck, you don't need it.

2 red 12v Constant - red wire bottom right of the ignition harness.  I used the 2003 Yukon pictoral found on this site to help locate the wires.

3 Brown - Siren output - red wire on your siren, simply ground the black wire and it should work

4 WHITE/ brown - Parking light iso wire - You don't need it you will connect the other parking light wire

5 Black Chassis Ground - Just ground it

6 Violet Door Trigger input - Don't need it, you especially don't need it if you use the high end bypass module with Data Link

7 Blue Trunk Pin - Don't need it

8 Green - Door Trigger Input n/c or n/o - Hook this wire to the bypass door trigger status output wire

9 BLACK/ White Dome light supervision - Don't need it

10 WHITE/ Blue Remote Start turbo timer activation input - Don't use

11  White - Parking light output - grey/black wire in Brown plug of BCM Here's a link to the pictoral I mentioned before I know it's for an 03 but it is accurate https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~133000~PN~1

12 Orange - ground when armed - Don't need

Harness 2

You don't need most of the wires on this harness so I'm only going to list the ones you do need.  If you have accessories that you are hooking up than you will have to do the research on those.

h2/9 violet/white - Tach input - Hook this to the bypass module at the Tach output

h2/15  Grey Hood Input - To the hood pin you probably already installed

h2/17  Brown - Brake shutdown Input - White wire on the harness attached to the brake pedal

h2/18 Neutral Safety Input - If you have a manual transmission you will have to hook this to the neutral safeety switch - Otherwise just ground it for Auto Trans

H3 Remote Start Harness (Big Wires) Refer to the pictoral again here

1 Pink - Ignition Input/Output - Pink wire Top Right wire of the ignition harness

2 RED / White - Fused Ignition 2 - 12v Constant hook it to the Red wire Lower Right Ignition harness, There are several wires that need connected to this wire including h1/2 I just hooked them all together and then Spliced into the Ignition harness

3 Orange - Accesory - Orange wire that goes to the back of the dash fuse panel

4 Violet - Starter Output - Cut the Yellow Starter wire in Half hook the violet wire to the side closest to the hood

5 Green - Starter input - Same yellow wire, closest to the key

6 Red - Fused Ignition 1  input - Same red wire that Fused ignition 2 goes too

7 - Pink/white - Ignition 2 Flex relay - To the white wire that goes to the Fuse panel

8 - Pink/ Black - Flex Relay input - Don't use

9 - RED / Black - fused accessory Starter - 12v Constant  Same as h3/6 and h3/2

h3/10 NO Connection

This is what I learned doing my first install, I feel that I could do it 100 times over again and get it right without help.  Hopefully, this will help you.

Your best bet is to go into the downloads section on this forum and search "wiring template" Then fill that out with what you know then copy / paste it into the thread. That will give us an easier point to go through what you have and correct / fill in the blanks.
