Ok, so I have gone over the wiring colors and hookup diagram over and over again but can not get it to work for me. The diagram for the module seems to be correct assuming that the power windows are actuated by being grounded like everything that I have read. With everything hooked up correctly and the module receiving a negative pulse to actuate the windows I can hear the relays in the module activating but the windows are not rolling up.
Any ideas?

Make up a quick list of each of your wire connections that you made. Also, what module are you using?

Is the outback a Mits? If so you have to find the motor wires for each window.

It's a Subaru. Either way, it doesn't sound like he connected to the motor wires.... unless I'm understanding it wrong.

Sorry, the weather forecast was 63f and rain today, it turned out to be 36f and snow. I couldn't even get any of my lighters to do the heat shrink! Hence thought outback was a Mits.
This new Comp. install guide for dealers, I'll email you tomorrow you can probably guess why.

I'm using the window up wiring that is in the alarm wiring list on this site, Its an off brand window module I picked up on eBay but it has a pretty straight forward installation. I can hear the module operating like it should be when I lock the doors. I think the problem that I may be having is that I checked a couple other sites and it says that the power windows are run by a negative lead from the switch, the guide on this site doesn't specify if its a positive or a negative.... I don't want to assume that it should be positive and do any damage to anything.

With those modules you have to tie into the motor wires, not at the switch. The only time it works from the switch is with comfort closure models (VW, Nissan, etc). I am almost certain that the 99 Outback does not have this feature...

Ok so go right to the motor with the wiring. Now, is it negative switched like I have been reading or would I have to put positive to it.
I just based what I did off of the wiring location guide on this site, but what you are saying makes complete sense.

Back to one of our early thoughts that people don't listen do they Kenny?
I know I thought it was a Mits but and I quote from 4 days ago "you have to find the motor wires for each window".
Second " Its an off brand window module I picked up on eBay" just about says it all.
Ditch and get a 530t.
And Kenny, your comment about vehicles with comfort close, if it had comfort close you wouldn't need a closer at all.

Sorry, it was getting late (yes, I'm getting old.. not really, but I feel like it). I meant the close / open on extended lock / unlock... not the actual comfort close.
And exactly what Howie said, ditch the fleabay module and pick up a 530T. The last thing you want is to have a cheap module short out and damage your window motors (or worse) just to save a few bucks.

Ok so ditch the eBay module and go with the dei module. Got it! So to control all 4 windows in both directions I would then need 2 modules correct? But only one if I wanted 4 windows in one direction.

No you can't use it that way since in normal use the "down" direction needs 2 commands to make it go all the way.

If you just want to close the windows, use 2 x 529t closers.

Most people only do the front windows. I did put 2 modules in my personal car and ended up taking one out because I never used it for the rears. Unless you constantly have someone sitting in the back, it's typically a waste of time & money.
