what is meant by the phrase SEE NO in the below description for the DOOR TRIGGER:
Head Light Switch or Courtesy Light SEE NO
I installed a Prestige APS995 in my Durango today. I could not find a door trigger wire.
Also the engine wont start using the remote. Not sure why. I have not hooked up a tach wire yet, but I don't think that's why it's not starting. Am I wrong? The vehicle has OEM keyless entry but no security dash light. Do I need another module? What other things would cause the unit not to start the vehicle?

You will need to hook up the tach wire as most , if not all remote starters need a signal for this wire to engage the remote start sequence. There is a YELLOW ( - ) wire at the courtesy light under the dash for the door trigger wire.

you may have an immobilizer setup on the dodge. is your key grey or black? If grey then you need an immobilizer bypass piece also are you energizing all the ingtn and acc wires at the key? there are 4 of them 2 igntn and 2 acc ingtn1=DK BLUE igntn2=GRN/RED acc1=BLK/ORG acc2=BLK/WHT your door triggers are BLK/BLU and TAN/RED The BLACK/ blue catches the drivers door and the tan/red catches all
other doors. Use both wires and diode isolate each. hope this helps. MECP master installer Dave

As far as the tach wire goes, there is a coil pack for each cylinder. The manual says that this setup MAY need a seperate adapter from them. Do you know if that is the case? Or can I tap into one wire somewhere? I read that I need to find a BLACK/ GRAY at the coil, but there are 8 coil packs.
I'll double check those ingition and accy wires.
I tapped into the TAN/RED but the alarm did not trigger when I tested it (I opened the hatch and driver door to test). I'll try again now that I know the drivers door has it's own. Is there a certain type of diode that I should use?

You can try a injector wire instead of going to the coil. If the remote starter has a self learning tach , just attach the tach wire of the remote starter to one of the common wires of the injectors. If you do not have a self learning tach then set the starter unit to 1 cylinder. Try these two locations for the BLACK/ GREY wire first before you attempt the injector wire: - Ignition Coil Is Located On Passenger Front Of Engine.
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Is Located On Passenger Rear Of Engine Compartment In Front Of Washer Fluid Reservior.
For the diodes you can go to any electronics store and get a 4000 series diode and here is some more information on them on this site : https://www.the12volt.com/diodes/diodes.asp. As far as I know , none of the Durango's have an immobilizer chip in the ignition system. According to my wiring scematics the 2nd ACC wire is a GREEN not BLACK/ WHITE but you should check the wire for verification as most of the information we get is not 100 % accurate. ------------- Jeff

This alarm has an interior ilumination feature. The Durango also lights up after I unlock the doors via the OEM keyless entry remote.
Will the interior illumination feature on the alarm work after connecting the door pins? Or is there another wire for interior illumination?

2001/02 durangos have an immobilizer in them. the key is grey if they have it. you need a bypass piece to use a remote start. I just did one of those this past weekend. dei piece 555c i believe.
