I installed the viper 5704v into my 06 escalade esv. I used the xk01 module. Everything works perfect, just as it should. I would like to see about getting the comfort closure feature working, if possible. It's my understanding that i will have to take the lock and unlock wires from the viper to the lock and unlock wires in the driver door, because comfort closure will not work through d2d. Is this true? Next i would like it to be set up so when i arm the windows come up. Then have the roll down on aux channel. If anybody could explain how to actually wire this up. need relay? the relay wiring? I have installed many many rs's but all were crimestopper. This dei wiring is sorta new to me and there is limited info on it, and yes i understand why that is......Thanks.

 no one has any input?

While I have never used a Directed XK01 bypass module, according to the install
guide, comfort closure is possible with the Type 4 vehicles.  ( prefer iDatalink modules )

Start off slow on this one.   The XK01 makes window roll-up with a lock command
( comfort closure ) real easy for you.  It's done by the XK01 via Data ( it's single
connection to the vehicles J1850 Data wire at the OBD2 connector ).

First, get the XK01 w/AMDL firmware to do the Window Roll-up with Lock/Arm via Data
working.   You will need to add the 30/40 Amp SPDT relay shown in the Type A ( Type 1-4 )
installation diagram.  I would also add a 30A fuse to the +12V input going to relay pins
30 & 86 ( I would also insulate or remove relay Pin 87a and add a 1N4004 diode across
the relay's coil ).   Then do the XK01 Option programming and change Mode 5 to Option 2.  At this
point, a Viper Lock command should also roll-up the windows.

Window roll-down via a Viper AUX output will be a whole other story someone else can
explain....

I have a 2004 ESV Platinum, same car as yours, and I haven't had a chance to mess around with my windows yet, but I agree with everything kreg357 says.

The XK01 is an old module, once made by Trilogix, before Directed bought them out and changed the name to XPresskit. Therefore, the XK01 works well, but it is rather poorly documented and poorly supported. I would try making some temporary connections and then, only if you get it to work, wire it up permanently.

I would do everything kreg says, except, instead of investing the time to wire up that relay, simply turn the key to the Accessory position and leave it there. That will power up the brown wire in the steering column for you.

I'll try to explain it a little bit better..... Program the XK01 to do window rollup, sit INSIDE the car (or be SURE to have a spare key available!), turn the key to ACC, lock the doors with your Viper, and see what happens. Good luck.

also, like Kreg said, windows down would be a whole different story.

The wires going to the window motors are available only inside of each door. So, to begin with, be aware that you're looking at running wires through those rubber boots and into all four doors.

I think, if you're good with delicate electronics, soldering to circuit boards, and working with relays, you could do this all from the driver's door. I'll explain:

METHOD 1: Buy two pieces DEI 530T for the four windows, one piece DEI 529T for the sunroof. Install according to instructions, making your connections inside each door. (P.S. It's a crapshoot if the 529T will really work for the sunroof; tech notes say something about having to have ignition on.)

METHOD 2: Disassemble driver's window switch, figure out the traces on the circuit board going to each window up/down button. Solder small wires onto each pair of contacts.

Use relay(s) to do the following action: 1: Power up brown accessory wire at ignition switch. 2: Close the contacts at the window switch(es) to make the window(s) go up or down. 3: Trigger the driver's door latch switch to simulate a door being opened, to turn the radio back off.

Yes, it'll be hard. I did take apart my window switch and look at it. I figured it would be at least a couple hours' of delicate soldering just to add the wires to the switch, then more time to build the relay bank to control it.

P.S. The mirror fold switches are on the same board as the window switches. If you're going to all the trouble to do windows, it would be easy to control the mirrors as well.

First off, thanks for the replies. The xk01 was another question i had. I'm using d2d. And like i said everything works perfect but for some reason the xko1 will not let me change any of the user settings. When i installed the viper and the xk i did wire the window rollup relay thinking i would just program the xk for roll up. But, when i hit the unlock on the viper remote to change to option 2 it wont work. I flashed the xk with the amdl 6.00. All other aspects of the xk work fine. Any ideas? Also, from what i see no other module supports window roll up, correct? I do have a 529t and a 530t. I would have no problem just hooking the 530t up to the front windows. Not all that worried about the backs. Then maybe testing the roof and see about wiring the 529 into it.

I don't think anyone else supports window control through data, just the XK01 unfortunately.

And sadly, data-to-data is still not well documented or well supported by any manufacturer. It works most of the time, but when it fails, the manufacturers invariably just bail out and tell you to go wire-to-wire, instead of standing up and fixing it.

Anyway, try just using jumper wires to ground, and then go to program the XK01 by tapping your jumper wire to the green or blue (whatever the instructions say) wires on the module. Then, after the programming part is done, double-tap the green lock wire to ground and see if the windows go up.

Only after you manage to get it working with a jumper wire, then worry about switching over to hardwire.

Ok, thanks Chris. When I get a chance I will try that and see what happens.
