picked up a MES door lock kit based upon some recommendations from this forum, looks to be a quality kit, doing the install going well. I do have a question on the rod clamp, that fixes the actuator rod to the lock rod.....
afer it is adjusted,, does a good amount of hand / screwdriver torque on the set screws suffice? or is it wise to use low strength loctite?
I would just hate to need to get back in there again...for what it is worth, I have a new respect for anyone that does this on a daily basis,, I am doing this on an old Dodge truck that has big doors, stripped of weather sealing / windows,, and I can still hard;ly find room for my hands in there to make connections...

It is a pain when you have to go back in your correct but in my experience use it and use the strong stuff. You will save yourswlf many headaches from the screws coming loose and having to go back in to re adjust and tighten the clamp.

Simple rule, move the actuators up and down, if they move the vehicle lock rod easily, you're spot on.

the instructions mention using a strip of tape then a mark on thei nside wall of the door,,,to align the two rods,,,, I don't seem to have that kind of room. to pull off that precision install setting..however I .believe I have them close...
when energized,, the passenger door would lock then immediately un lock,, messed with the rod adjustments,and got it to settle down, where both doors lock or unlock,,,, seems to be ok,,,
currently the actuator 'bounces' a bit after locking or un locked,, is that OK?

I set up the rods first with the motor loosely attached, then install the motor.
Did you use 2 x 5 wire motors?
Only connect the 5 wire in the driver's door, with both connected the micro-switches work against each other causing that problem.
Bounce is normal, the most expensive types use a rack and pinion drive which doesn't bounce.
