Hello All,

I recently had the Python 574 alarm and remote start professionally installed on my 2010 Dodge Ram Sport 4x4 (Has factory alarm and remote start). Ever since it left the installer, I've been having 2 intermittent issues... 1)the factory alarm (horn) turning on and 2) a 25 second delay starting when using the python remote start. Sometimes these are two isolated issues and sometimes go together (horn turns on then I have to hit the unlock button to turn off horn and then the 25 sec delay). I've brought the truck back to the installer multiple times and they have seen the issues first hand. They've checked all the wiring/connections and have replaced the module (db all xpresskit) twice and still the same problem. The module has been reflashed and all settings verified using the bitwriter. They told me if it continues to do it, they would try a different module from another manufacture which would include splicing/soldering more wires (which I dont want them doing). And the last resort would be to completely remove everything and refund my $. They were telling me that the electrical systems in these newer Rams were sophisticated/complex? If I use just the factory remote fob, everything works fine. Again, these issues are Intermittent and don't happen everytime I remote start. The alarm works fine. The longest its gone without issues is 2 days. Is it possible the "brain" is going bad? They don't think so since the remote start works.
I have faith in my installers since they did the same install on my wifes 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT and it has had zero issues. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

First off. Lose the dball. The dball with Chrysler vehicles seem to always have issues even though directed doesn't acknowledge it. Use an idatalink bypass module instead.   Honestly if it were my truck I would try that before removing it all.

Times 2 with Gary.  The iDatalink CH4 firmware has always worked well for me.

I haven't done one with factory remote start , so not sure it that is part of the issue.

Soldering is fun!

Thanks for the replies. I'll have my installer try the idatalink module and we'll see what it does. That was the other module he mentioned trying. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
