I just finished installing my Viper 5701 alarm remote start. It is made for manual transmission. When I do remote takeover the car keeps running until I arm the system. When I try to remote start it it does 7 flashes of the parking lights which the manual says "Check all solutions". Does anyone know what this could be? VATS has been disabled. The remote gives the alert a few seconds after I arm the system to tell me something is wrong.

Is your car manual or auto?

Hmm, not the answer I was expecting. Have you installed a by-pass?

I have VATS disabled. No bypass needed.

OK, sorry, can't think of anything else unless possibly the wiring. Is this one based on the Aussie Holden/Vauxhall Monaro?

The ignition switch if it follows Euro Vauxhall/Opels of that time should have 1 x 12V+ source, 1 x ACC, 2 x ignition and 1 x starter, very straightforward.

Like I said it will run off the remote start once I do remote takeover. It runs without the key in the ignition. Once I arm the system for manual transmission mode and arm the system it shuts down and the remote gives an error then will not try to remote start. I had it in auto transmission mode and it will start but it will not do it in manual mode.

Silly question but have you programmed (learned) tach and hard wired it?

Yes but it has been a while. I can do it again. Can you remind me what the sequence is?

Start engine, within 5 seconds press and hold button on control centre, blue light should come on, release button, tach learnt.

Just curious, where is your door trigger hooked to? Or is that not required on this unit?

RJ, I made an assumption and forgot mention it, yes door switch is required, whether installed or not I assumed it was. Ooops.

Door trigger is connected to grey/white and white at the BCM and diode isolated. Door triggers work just fine.

How do you have the hood pin and factory alarm arm/disarm wires connected? Do any of them tie into the door pin connections?

If you havent gathered what we are asking is, we think there may be an issue with something the brain is looking for during the setup sequence. go through the process of what it wants and check to make sure the remote brain is getting the correct inputs at the correct time. posted_image

What inputs are you talking about? Foot brake, parking brake, and door pin are the only things I can think it would need and those all work.

Factory arm/disarm is only from factory remote and I disconnected the hood pin because another GTO owner said he had problems with his.

Hey man, just curious as to if you ever got this issue fixed and if so what you did. I'm doing the same thing, but with a Compustar remote system, but I'm having the same exact issue. Runs even when the key is out and shuts down, but wont auto start, just gives me the 7 parking light flashes.
