Hoping someone can help, I am preparing to install my Viper 5704 alarm/RS into my 2013 WRX sedan and the trunk wiring information indicates to wire into the trunk release motor wires directly on the sedan. Has anyone wired one of these themselves and have any pointers or better yet photos? I am aware that the datalink does trunk release with the negative output but I have decided to go analog.  I searched the forum and have not been able to locate a post that addresses this.

Also, on the wiring information I have it states that the 2013 WRX may have the 2011 wiring?  Can anyone confirm? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, it can have the 2011 wiring. The only way to confirm is to look at the wires and see what you have. Do yourself a favor and pick up a 2nd bypass rather than going analog. It will save you a bunch of connections to the vehicle and it won't be as 'intrusive' to the vehicle wiring. Also, it allows easier integration with the factory alarm. It will also save you from having to go under the hood for tach signal (will still have to get under the hood for the hood pin though)

I performed the install on my 5704V this weekend and went very smooth. In my opinion it was easier wiring the car without the data link since the '13 WRX has the '11 wiring that has majority of the wires at the BIU (door triggers, locks, trunk release, parking lights, trunk trigger, etc.). Also had no issues with the factory alarm triggering from the remote start and did not need to wire in the key sense for disarm.

For anyone else curious on how to wire the trunk release motor, this diagram was very helpful:
