I installed a G40RS in a 99 Discovery II and the strangest thing is happening. When the temperature outside warms up the range of the remote decreases. You almost have to be 3" from the antenna to work. When the temperature is under 70 or cool off the interior of the car to under 70 all works well. I've remote will work from 40" away. Anyone home across this type of problem before.

Not familiar with the system or the vehicle, but if I had to harbor a guess, I would suspect the antenna has a broken or cracked solder joint somewhere. I am sorry but I can not offer any advice on a fix other than to replace the antenna assembly. Good luck posted_image

Just out of curiosity, does this happen in the same location where the vehicle is parked every time or does the vehicles location not affect the functionality issue? I had a customer that had range issues when it was parked in the same location every time.

Police/fire/other utilities with transmitting antennae will also block your signal.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

Have you tried a new brain? Maybe there is a internal thermistor that is causing the unit to malfunction.
