Good evening all,
I recently purchased a 2005 Dodge Dakota with a remote start, which worked before I test drove the truck. Part of the deal to buy the truck was the dealer would provide a second key. When I picked up the truck the remote start would not work. They were all confused and basically threw it on me to call the company. I called the company who gave me a number for an installer 45 minutes away. The installer was kind enough to explain that I needed to fine the key box and have all the keys programmed the same. I have since found the 556U box and had all 3 keys reprogrammed. They all start the truck. I placed a key in the box and when I press button number one, the lights flash once, I hear the fuel pump turn on, but the truck will not start. I located the valet switch and LED, which is on solid. Before I take a long drive and waste gas, does anyone have any suggestions. Thank you very much in advance.
Ken

Appears that your are in Valet Mode ( Blue Status LED on solid ). Here is a link to the install guide for your system :

Of course, the fact that it brings up the ignition during a remote start attempt sounds like a bypass issue. Have you tried a remote start with a working key held next to the ignition key cylinder? There are remote start diagnostics you can use to get a reason for the failed attempt. They are listed in the manual.
