Hello, I just pulled my remote start /alarm (Magicar) from the 9 mustang to my new 2000 Mustang. It all worked great in my 95, but after my install into my 2000 the start just cranks but never turns over? I Disconnected my wires and tried again, and now I get nothing - The alarm clicks but doesnt even crank now. Also, if I start the car manually, The remote LCD knows the car is on??? Does the "computer" key thing have anything to do with this??? Scott

Ok, the more I play the more I get frustrated ... i thought maybe the starter somehow got into Tach mode, so I connected the tach wire, and I still get nothing, but still - the LCD knows when I start the car - but it wont start it itself.... The more I look, the more I think I need to connect the OEM bypass to my "theft" device. The car has no alarm (yet) but has that "theft" light to tell you about the computer keys... Will the OEM Bypass wire fix this??? Thanks! Scott

Try putting the key in the ignition (don't turn it on) and try to remote start the vehicle. If it starts, then you probably managed to hook up most of the wires correctly. You just need to bypass the chip (trandsponder) in the key
Go on eBay and look under security. Search for an item called "555F" by DEI or Directed Electronics. You need something like this. It is a device that will simulate a key. Without the key next to the key cylinder, the cars fuel system is disabled which is why it won't start.

According to the Mustang Wiring Diagram : +12 Is yellow
WHITE/ pink is starter
RED / lt green is ignition
gray / YELLOW is ignition 2
gray / YELLOW is accessory My remote starter has start, on, acc, and + 12 I did Start to WHITE/ pink
+12 to Yellow
on to RED / lt green
acc to gray / YELLOW Does that sound correct?

I'm looking to upgrade my current alarm. I would like a 2way lcd unit, with window controls, and most of them come with remote starts. I am in a manual transmission GT and am aware of the risks involved. I do not know what model system I want and am open to suggestion. my plan is to perform a normal clutch bypass, check the parking brake, and then integrate a custom circut consisting of an IR beam mounted horizontally across the H as a neutral detect circut. I would also like to integrate a hood pin too prevent remote starts while the hood is open. I am a newbie to this field, but am experienced with electrical devices, computers and many other complex systems. Any help would be greatful. Thanks. ------------- Brad

Hello, Okay, I have an odd problem now. I still cant get my 2000 mustang to remote start at all, even with a key in the ignition. BUT if I take the ground from the alarm and touch the +12 wire (yellow from car, red to the alarm) It cranks and starts. All connections are as : yellow is + 12
WHITE/ pink is starter
RED / lt green is ignition
gray / YELLOW is ignition 2
BLACK/ green is accessory My remote starter has 4 wires for remote start : start, on, acc, and + 12 ... The ground wire is from the second wiring harness (Mostly alarm functions, Lights, siren, etc....) I wired :
Start to WHITE/ pink
+12 to Yellow
on to RED / lt green
acc to gray / YELLOW If I disconnect Start and try the same thing, it doesnt work... Sounds like a grounding thing to me, but I've grounded to chassis, direct to battery, and other places, and same result. The unit clicks, and the LCD rings to say it tried to start but didnt. If I manually start it with the key - the LCD shows the car has been started. Please help... Im getting so frustrated..... Scott
