Hi guys,

I’m in need of a little bit of help with my RS720 install. I have already installed the correct wire to the appropriate locations (just for the remote start so far). However, after reading the installation manual, I am a little confused on how I can go about installing my transponder that I have purchased. I have a 2000 Nissan Altima with a chipped key that is already programmed to the vehicle. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks

Is the transponder by-pass a key in the box device?

Correct, it is the one that I would have to put in a box.

The Brand and Model number would help as each one is slightly different. Might be a Directed 556UW or something like that.

Soldering is fun!

Here is what I have with the below link. I would rather be extra careful before wiring it up. I get that I need to connect it to the constant 12 volts. However, im a bit confused about connecting to a third ignition.

Third ignition would be a NEG ground when running, A.K.A. status output or wire.

Why use a key in box? There is so much better out there. Please explain.

Thats what my research kicked back at me (transponder that needs an extra key). What is out there? Currently all my car dash does is the dash would flicker and not start at all.

There is idatalink which you could hardwire or uses D2D. Rather than leaving a key under the dash.

Idatalink would be the way to go. That way you dont loose a key and if you ever need to add keys you dont have to take the key out of the box. Also the data bypasses are a lot lower current draw when sitting idle.
