Hello. I am trying to disconnect my mongoose car alarm model mx750s. I have removed it from the car and left wires hanging down but the car won't start. When I turn the key the starter just clicks, the battery is ok. Obviously I still need to do something with the wires to make it start. Any suggestions?

If the starter itself is making the clicking noise, there is not a problem with the alarm wires. If the unit had starter kill built into it and you removed it without reconnecting the start wires, there would be no click from the starter. If the starter is clicking, there is either a bad connection between the battery and the large connection on the starter, or the internal part of the contact is bad inside the starter.

You need to check voltage at the battery while someone attempts to start the car.

Battery is good...how have you tested it?
Otherwise x 2 with Mr. I

Apart from testing volts with an ammeter did you do a load/drop test?
Of course my other fault is a starter cut relay which could be the clicking you heard.

No current draw = no voltage drop. When you checked the voltage, were you trying to start the vehicle?

This whole thing strikes me as daft, how could you get 13.9 from a battery where the car won't start?
A fully charged car battery at rest is 12.65 volts DC.

Hello. Before I started messing with the alarm, and before I lost the remote the car was starting perfectly. Now since I have the alarm (not disabled) just disconnected it wont start, just clicks at the starter. I went to plug the siren back in and the bloody thing went off. So obviously there is still a live connection(s) somewhere, preventing me from starting it

Look at the wiring coming from the ignition switch. There will be one wire that has been cut. Both ends of that wire will go to either a relay, or directly to the alarm brain. All you have to do is reconnect that wire.

Someone had a starter kill relay hooked up and didnt connect the start wire. Connect that wire and Try again.
