I have installed my new viper 5704 on my 96 mitsubishi eclipse and was really excited but am having a little difficulty. Everything seems to be working fine except when I go through "reservation" at the end the remote start does activate but then when I turn the key off the engine turns off and the remote starts disables. Please help!

Connect H3/2 RED / WHITE and H3/9 RED / BLACK to 112V+ constant source.
Don't worry EVERY beginner makes that mistake. It's called RTFM.

Allright thank you, I will definitely do it as soon as I get home from work tonight. Also I wanted to ask what a couple things did like as far as the GROUND WHEN ARMED OUTPUT? Is it neccessary? Dome light can be connected to the door trigger correct? How does the thrunk release output work? Number 18 in the 24-pin show it has to be connected since it is a manual transmission as was wondering if I just connect number 15 is that ok?

GWA not needed unless you have a tilt sensor.
D0 you have two starter wires? That's when you need H2/18. It triggers a relay for a second starter wire. NOTHING to do with a manual transmission.
Trunk release, I've no info, TEST at the switch.
How many wires, NEG (-) from the switch? POS (+) from the switch? TEST
Ref. the dome light, again read the instructions.

So I did as you said connected H3/2 RED / WHITE and H3/9 RED / BLACK to 112V+ constant source but still is not enough the remote start still dies after putting it in reservation mode and taking out the key.

I tried programming the tach again and it seems to not be reading it may I have the wrong wire for the tach? Do you know which one it is and where is it located because I tried where bulldogsecurity.com says in the ECU plug the white wire.

Did you test the white wire?

Excuse my ignorance but how do u test that wire?

Digital Multi Meter set to 20V AC, Red test lead to suspect wire, Black test lead to solid chassis ground. Look for a signal between 1V and 6V AC that rises slightly with RPM's.

Soldering is fun!

It's all about assuming without test and verification.

Well it's not that I assumed it's just that I saw on bulldogsecurity.com and figured they know what they were talking about. But now I know I have to test the wires to make sure and I will test the tach wire as soon as I get off work. I appreciate this!

Allright I tested for that tach wire and it is the one I had connected so I tried programming tach again and now it wont even take it or even start the remote start now. Any more suggestions?

Where do you have the chassis ground connected?

To the chassis under the dash.

But is it on a bolt or did you add a screw? You also may want to relocate it to the driver kick panel. On some vehicles, there is a rubber mount between the dash framing and the chassis to allow small movement of the dash... this can dramatically affect a ground signal.

So measure the voltage between there and the R/S side of your 4 fused wires.
