I have a Clifford Arrow 5.1 G5 alarm system installed in my vehicle and I recently purchased a G4 Smart Windows 4 module off of eBay. I took it to a local installer and was told that the G4 Smart Windows unit would not work with a G5 system, despite what all of Clifford's literature states regarding the backward capability of the new G5 platform with the older G4 accessories. I contacted Clifford customer support and they were not able to give me a definitive answer.
Does anyone know if a G4 Smart Windows 4 module will work with a G5 system, Arrow or otherwise? Thanks in advance.

Yes it will, plugs into the white Cliffnet data port.

Thanks Howie. I understand that the physical connections are compatible, but what about the communication protocol? Is it a seamless interface between the G5 Arrow alarm and the G4 Smart Windows 4 module? I'm trying to determine whether to pay to have the Smart Windows module installed if there's a chance that it won't work. Thanks again.

No problems with "talking" to each other. Smart windows will work better but take up your only available aux output.

Awesome. Thanks again Howie, I'm off to the installer this afternoon to have it put in. I appreciate your help.
