Subject: 5704 external sensors not working

Hello. a buddy of mine just finished up an install of a Viper 5704v alarm system. everything is now functioning. except for the external sensors. He has installed a tilt sensor, a glass break sensor and the external shock sensor that came with the alarm system. Neither of these 3 sensors cause the alarm to produce warn away chirps, full alarm or any reporting to the remote. we have set the sensitivity of the shock sensor to its max setting. and can see the LED illuminate when the car is subjected to a hit of the wheel, door or steering wheel.

I have a bad feeling that the brain is damaged or defective. is there any kind of factory reset that can be performed to solve this issue? or is there a setting that needs to be adjusted to allow these sensors to communicate properly?

any information is greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance!

did you use diodes to isolate all the sensors from each other?

Thanks for the reply.
We have not installed any diodes. Tbere are no added diodes to the system. Both the shock sensor and the audio sensor are plugged into a factory harness that has 2 sensor plugs. And the tilt sensor is on a modified harness. The harness provided with the tilt sensor was only a 3 pin. This alarm requires a 4 pin. So I connected the 12v+, ground and the wire the sensor reports on to a 4 pin.

I installed the same alarm with the same sensors wired like this in my car about a year ago with no problems. Which is what has had me stumped as to why this install is not working for him.

I didn't do any of the wiring on this install except for the modified tilt sensor harness. Is there a chance that something wired wrong during the install could cause this issue?

Remote start works, and all the other triggers work, hood pin, and dome light.

I am curious as to where one would put the diodes. On the reporting wires?

Which sensor is plugged into a port by itself?

The tilt sensor is on its own port. The shock sensor is piggybacked with the audio sensor.

Disconnect the shock sensor piggy backed with the audio sensor and see if you get any response from the tilt sensor.
