Hello, I am working on a '99 Grand Prix with a factory sunroof. So far I was able to install the window roll-up with no problems. I did the same to the sunroof but it only worked about 5 times before I had a problem. The automatic close works fine, it is when I try to use the factory button to open the sunroof. It has completely stopped working...(factory button) the roll-up module still works fine.
Really, my question is that:
I used a standard window roll-up module (controls 2 windows) to operate the sunroof. I only connected the left window side of the module to the sunroof and left the right side disconnected. Has anyone else done this same type of installation and did you have any problems? I know that DEI makes a sunroof module but I figured that I would try the window module first since it is only $15.

As long as you used only 1 set of wires (either striped or non-striped) off of the 530T to control the sunroof you should be fine.
If the factory switch is no longer working, check the fuse. Also, you could splice back together the factory wiring, and see what happens.

Did you figure it out? I'm just curious because I'm interested in trying this too. Only, my sunroof doesn't stop on its own, it will just keep going and kill the motor. Does the window mod you used stop the window automatically? I know the DEI module does, but I don't think that's the module you're using.

Use a DEI 529T. That will do the work for sure and it worths all the money.
