First of all, I'd just like to show my appreciation and support of such a great informative website. I don't know about anyone else here, but I'm the type of person that hates to ask for help with situations, yet, I feel comfortable working things out here. So, on the with the issue...
vehicle: 1993 Ford Club Wagon (Mark III)
alarm: CrimeStopper CS9701
It is (partially) installed in a 1993 Ford Club Wagon. I have all of the primary wires installed, and before I took the install any further, I wanted to test the system. Everything works fine except for the (+) door trigger, which is the violet wire. I am connecting the violet wire parallel to the BLACK/ lt blue wire (door switch), in the drivers side kick panel. I've tried everything possible to fix this situation. There is 12v+ when the doors are opened, and grounded when the doors are closed. I've applied 12v direct to the violet wire to test it, and there is still nothing when the system is armed, and triggered. I've tried 4 other identical units, with the same harness, and I'm still coming up empty. The only wires that ARE NOT being used for this install is orange (starter kill), gray (output 1), green (12v- door), blue (12v- pin switch). The shock sensor and valet switch have not yet been installed, but will be upon completion. Again, everything is functioning (ie: parking light flash, siren, arm/disarm...) I'd appreciate any help with this.
Thanks!
blk/blue is the domelight wire.
does the dome light turn on when you open the doors?? is there an over-ride switch somewhere on the dash????
if you t-tap into that wire, it should work the pos. door trigger

Yup, blk/blue is the wire I have. It is 12v+ when the door is open, and null when the door is closed. It should be working as you say, because that's the way I've always done things! :) I'd say it's a bad brain, but it did the same thing to 3 other units. Who knows... Crimestopper is giving me no help. woohoo.

All is well with the unit. It just required more time to cycle from disarm to arm.
*note to self: acquire patience with Crimestopper alarms.* :)
