Hi All,

I working on a 93 MR2 again and have installed an Autopage RF-425. I've uploaded the installation and operation manuals for everyone, too.
It says on page 5(under 10 pin mini connector harness,#2 BLACK/ Blue wire)of the installation manual that I can use the unit to roll up the windows remotely without an external module. On page 6, #8 WHITE/ blue wire, it says the same thing.

I would like to know I can use this option on the MR2, going up with one option and down with the other option. Or will it only allow me to raise the windows? Or will it work at all in the MR2?

I'm providing a link to the factory wiring manual. The window circuit can be found on pages 110-113 of the pdf. Thanks!

I've never dealt with either your car or the system your working with. But on some cars the windows can be controlled by using the key in the driver's door. Holding the key to lock would close the windows and holding the key to unlock would open them. If your car acts like this I don't see why you wouldn't be able to control the windows.

Thanks for your reply. The door key doesn't work like that on this car. I included all the information I had available. It looks like I'll have to use relays to control the windows. If no one else wants to post any assistance I'll move on. A lot of that going on lately.

I wouldn't use relays. I would use a 530t or something similar

Amazon lists 530t modules for $139.00! That's about $45.00 more than I payed for the alarm!

The unit seems versatile enough to be able to handle window functions without the module. However if I knew this for sure I wouldn't be here.

For example:

2. Black / BLUE WIRE – (-) 200mA Timer Control Channel 4 Output –
This wire has a built-in user-programmable timer output that provides a ground through
this wire. Press the transmitter (unlock)and (trunk)button at the same time. You may program
the built-in timer to send a ground signal for any time interval between 1 second and 2
minutes. For instance, this timer output may be used to turn on the headlight with the
remote control. Also on certain BMW, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar and Volkswagen cars, you
can use this unique timed output to allow remote closure of all power window and
sunroof without the need for an external module! (See Feature C – 4 Programming )

and...

8. WHITE/ BLUE WIRE – PROGRAMMABLE OUTPUT –
CHANNEL 3 OUTPUT (Factory default setting)
This wire is built-in user-programmable timer output provides a ground through this wire.
Press the (lock) and(trunk) button on the transmitter. You may program the built-in timer to send
a ground signal for any time interval between 1 second and 2 minutes. For instance, this
timer output may be used to turn on the headlight with the remote control. Also on certain
BMW, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar and Volkswagen cars, you can use this unique timed
output to allow remote closure of all power window and sunroof without the need for an
external module! (See Alarm Feature C – 2 Programming)
PAGER OUTPUT (See Feature C – 2 Programming)
This wire provides a negative output, when the alarm triggered. The current capacity of
this wire is 200mA. For optional electrical device in this system, please connected to an
additional relay. (I.E. Pager interface....)

The reference to BMW, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar and Volkswagen are duly noted and I believe are the operations that were mentioned using the drivers key lock.

Channels three and four are time adjustable as stated above and seems to me that this would prevent any damage to the window motors by having power on them continuously.

Now that I'm looking for the setup to use relays to control the windows, I can't find them. I thought I saw something about controlling windows. maybe I didn't?

You are correct about the reference to the bmw and alike cars as far as the window control from the door key. The only safe way to automate the windows that I can see would be the 530T. I know that's not what you were hoping for.

Thanks Chev104275. I'll find a 530T at a better price somewhere I'm sure.

If you want to do just one direction you could use a 529t. Cheaper option.   Amazon has them for about $30
