5901 viper alarm problem

I've had my alarm working perfectly for the past 2 years, but the other day I made a horrible mistake. I was in the process of replacing my old subs and after everything was installed, I was connecting the power back to the positive terminal and decided to stupidly use a battery powered drill to tighten back the nut to the terminal.

Sparks flew everywhere and my alarm started to go off. My alarm doesn't respond to my remote and my antenna doesn't show the blue LED. I have 2 horns installed on the alarm. One in the engine bay and the other in the cabin. The horn on the outside doesn't sound anymore but the one in the cabin does any time the H1 harness is connected to the brain.

Everything else works in the car. Factory remote locks and unlocks, and sounds the factory horn as it use to before the alarm. Headlights and tail lights work. Radio, speakers, and dash work. Basically everything except the Viper alarm.

I bought a refurbished brain to try and see if the brain was fried but it does the same thing. I've left the battery (+) and (-) disconnected over night. I've left both brains disconnected. I've connected either brain and left battery disconnected on various nights. I've tried to disarm by leaving the door open and turning the ignition to the on position and pressing the valet button but the LED doesn't show or show any signs of response. I've also tried to lock and unlock from the outside with the key in the door and the alarm in the cabin would stop going off when the key position was fully turned in either locked or unlocked position and the blue LED light flickers or is constantly on until I let go of the key position. And the alarm on the outside would give single beeps in intervals of 5 seconds.

I've also checked some of the factory fuses and the fuses on the viper alarm itself, and all the ones I checked were good. I'm checking the ground later today but other than that, I'm completely stumped. Anyone have any ideas?

Since both brains do exactly the same thing I would say its a wiring or fuse issue. Did you check all 4 fuses for the 5901? There are 3 30 amp fuses one in each of the +12V heavy gauge wires and also a 15 amp fuse in the small +12V wire in the H1 harness.

How about the antenna? Could it be fried?

I'm guessing the 15 amp fuse on the H1 harness. Mainly because the system wont enter valet.

Thanks for the fast replies. Yea I checked all 3 fuses coming from the H3 and 1 coming from the H1 harness and even the parking light flash jumper fuse on the brain it self. Checked them all 3 different times. Also checked all the fuses by the BCM and in the engine bay. I'll post a video in a bit to give everyone an idea of what I'm dealing with.

I'm hoping it's just that but want to find out if it's something else before I pull the trigger on the 50-80 dollar antenna.

This is the thread I followed to install this alarm. Did it exactly as this guy except for a fuse that I didn't see/notice until I went over it a day ago. He added a fuse in the engine bay near the battery that went from battery to brain. But other than that its exactly as his.

At this point I would get a DMM and start checking for continuity on each of the connected wires. Look at each of the connectors for any burn marks or damage. What about the bypass module? D2D or W2W. Could it be hanging up the 5901?  If both brains act the same, you have to eliminate one thing at a time or replace parts until the fault is found.  Only three things are electronic, the brain, the antenna, and the bypass. Everything else are wires or fuses, Fuses you have checked.  just my thoughts on what I would do.

Thanks for the input. I'll check the wires later this evening and see what comes up. I'm using an XK07 D2D. The last time the bypass module went out, the only effect it had was that I wasn't able to remote start but I might go ahead and order another one, as well as bite the bullet and order a new antenna. But first i'll check the wires.

Things just keep getting worst. Friday night my car didn't crank/start. Alarm problem is also still there even after I changed out the bypass module and antenna that came in today. When I try to start the car, I just hear a single click from my starter. I read on a forum specific to my car and there were various things it could be but the most common thing was either a bad battery or a bad starter. Well, I changed out my battery at Walmart (good thing it was still under warranty), but that didn't fix it. I think it's indirectly related to my alarm problem. This is driving me crazy. My next step might be to completely change out my BCM. Anyone have any other suggestions?
