Ive Installed a couple of these Tarantula Units that are made by soundstream as my local distrubator has been stocking these and says how great they are. Have any of you guys installed these yet? I Install the ARS.2 2 way remote start alarm and made a video of the unboxing. Im actaully liking them. What are you thinking?

i have seen only one soundstream alarm ever, it came in because some other shop installed it and refused to warranty it (never a good sign...) and it was the size of a typical RS bypass, hardly any programmable features, no on board relays, in short, it was a joke even compared to other bargain alarms. of course the distributor is going to say they are great because they want you to buy them, but if you want to just buy a few and try them out but i wouldnt jump into the deep end and buy a case of them just because they are cheap.

From the earlier ARS.1 & RS1 install guides, it sure looks a lot like an Ultra Start unit. The manual and programming, etc.
Compare with this Ultra Start U1280 Install Guide :
https://www.ultrastarters.com/manuals/MAN-80s-INSTALL-2011.7.22.pdf
They also OEM the Fortin EVO-ALL bypass module.
I have been using Ultra Start systems for a while and found them very reliable, but basic systems.
------------- Soldering is fun!

I would agree with you Kreg. It does look like the same manual. Hmm.
