hello my name is dave.
i have installed a viper 5704 on a 2007 f150 crew cab 4x4 with a 5.4 litre. the problem i am having is the remote start is not bypassing the ignition. i currently have a dei 555f bypass module wired red wire to ignition power and the grey wire to the orange wire from the alarm which has ground when starting. i have tried multiple times to get the truck to learn the 555f module by using two factory keys. and for some reason it will not learn the new module. i have even tried to run a ground wire to the gray wire on the 555f module during a learn procedure,but did not help.
so i guess my question to everyone would be
1. could it be possible that i am doing the learn procedure wrong even though i think i am following the directions to the letter.
2. could the dei 555f bypass module not be the correct bypass module i need for this install.
i would like to thank anyone who took the time to read this and also anyone who might be able to offer any suggestions or answers.
at this point im just not sure what could be causing my problem,since it will start with the key in the ignition in the off postion.

Red to constant 12v
Gray to negative status ground when running
Key on wait for security light to go off
key off
Key 2 on wait for security light to go off
key off
remote start... if it programs it should start and security light should go out

I'm thinking Option 2. The install guide says it supports the F150 up until 2003. ( They do list vehicles up to 2005. ) Ford changed the F150 to PATS3 in 2004.
Another issue you have is the 555FW Blue wire should go the the Viper Dark Blue (-) Status Output wire, not the Orange Ground When Armed wire.
And finally, are the two ignition keys factory originals? If they are not two unique, non-clone, keys, you will not be able to successfully program the bypass.

That's exactly what I was doing unfortunately it was not starting by the remote start and the security light was blinking rapidly. I'm not sure if my keys are clones or not but I do know that they are both ford keys.

You were right about the blue wires. So I hooked the blue wire (not the gray like I said in my previous post) from the 555f module to the viper 5704 blue wire. But it still will not start unless I have a ford key in the ignition. But I do appreciate your time and input. So thank you very much.
Can anyone recommend a decent ignition bypass module for the 2007 ford f150? I have been reading up on an idatalink module but I thought I might run it by you guys first. When I went to their website it showed 4 different models for the 2007 ford f150 crew cab 4x4 5.4litre engine.

The old style transponder chip bypass modules ( like the 555FW ) have been made obsolete by the new style Data bypass modules. The ones from iDatalink are excellent and as you noticed, there are many to choose from. As a DIYer and wanting to save some money, the Solo type bypass modules would be most appropriate. Look for the ADS TBSL KO or ADS TBSL TI. They come pre-loaded with the correct firmware and are ready to go right out of the box. From Fortin, the Key-OverRide-ALL is another good choice. From DEI, the PKALL ( cousin to the Key-OverRide-ALL ) will work nicely and support D2D communications between it and the Viper.
If you want something from iDatalink and want to save some money, look for the Directed 1100F bypass module. It is out of production now but it is the same thing as an ADS TB FM bypass module, just OEM'd for Directed. They can be found for under $20. I used the 1100F bypass module in my daughters boyfriends 2007 F150 w/ 5.4L engine about 4 years ago and it's still going strong. ( Just watch-out for that $700 spark plug replacement job at 100k miles... ) ------------- Soldering is fun!

well i just wanted to give you all an update. after installing the idata link kreg recommended, it works great. by that i mean it starts everytime. thanks kreg for all the information.
