I've wired in the majority of an R/S unit in my Fusion however I have not hooked up an alarm disarm wire as I am having trouble finding it in the driver's kick panel. I read somewhere else though that it shouldn't be necessary as the factory alarm disarms when the ignition is hot. Is this correct?

Also, I would like to hook up a defroster trigger but I don't know what wire in the kick or SJB to tap into.

Are you able to help? Thank you.

Disarm will be puprle/brown at the SJB, it will be at the top with a blue cover on it.

Defrost is listed as WHITE/ orange at the SJB, connector D, pin 16.  Test for it.

Thank you. Could you describe which connector is "D" at the SJB? Also, is the best way to test that defrost wire simply by applying a ground pulse to it?

I couldn't find a picture of which is connector "d".  I would just find WHITE/ orange and use a meter to test by putting black probe to ground, and red probe to suspected wire. set to dc volts.  should should show 12V off and drop to 0 when button on.

Thanks again. One more thing, would I want a negative pulse to activate it on that wire or is it supposed to be latched?

Should be neg pulse.

If your doing start only you shouldn't need the disarm wire. When the car sees ignition and a valid key it disarms the alarm

I've installed it and wanted to confirm a few things. The disarm wire is not necessary. The bypass is taking care of that. Also, the defrost wire (WHITE/ orange) at the SJB needs a latched - input, not pulsed.

My only issue is that the power lock wire (gray / YELLOW) in the kick panel is always grounded. (not a good ground but a ground) This is wreaking havoc on the remote start if I wire this in to use as an activation input wire. I want to use the factory remote to start the car so I need a good - pulse whenever the lock button is pressed. Any ideas where I can go to find such a wire? (I can use a relay if needed)

Thanks you.

To right to lock motor wire with a relay on positive wire
