I recently installed a python 990 remote start. (I know it's an older unit but it was free.)

Everything works great but I am not getting a signal from the brain to the remote. Whether the truck is armed/locked or remote started and running the LCD on the fob shows unlocked. It is not getting a signal back from the main unit.

The remote also beep twice 3 times anytime a button is pressed.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Used system. I had everything hooked up to make sure the system worked properly. And at that time the 2 way worked.

After that I disconnected an soldered all connections and at the same time installed a new antenna because the old one was damaged. Since finished the 2 way hasn't worked.

Sounds like the replacement antenna is not a 2way antenna

I guess that could be a possibility. I gave them the part number off the old antenna. But I will swap the antenna back to the old one and see what we come up with. It was just the harness that was damaged on the old one.

Antenna swap was a no go. This is aggravating hah. But at least it works.

I greatly appreciate all the replies so far guys!!

So you replaced the antenna cable? Not the antenna? how many wires are in the cable 3 or 4?

Replace both. Antenna and cable. It is 4 wires

The only things that can cause the issue you're having are the remote, antenna cable, & antenna. Only other thing I can think of is either the antenna and or cable is bad or its the wrong antenna. There are 2 different antennas that look the same. One says Responder and the other says Responder SST. Check to be sure you have the same as the old one.

The antennas are in fact identical sst responders. This morning I took the antenna off the windshield and let it lay in the floor board. And it has been working (2way) for about an hour now.

I don't understand why this would change anything. I'm going to try and find a spot on the bottom of the dash to mount the antenna and see what we come up with this afternoon.

Again, thanks for all the help guys. I'll keep it updated.
