The thing is my account that I had with directechs was deleted November 1st and I was told the reason being that too many ip addresses was being used to log on to that account. I had a new account created and was warned abt letting other users log on using my email and password. What I'm saying is that I really don't think some one will let you access Directechs account for a monthly fee .

Yea that's totally understandable. I would keep it to one IP address on my end if anyone is interested in supplying me a login. I believe my last account was closed because I and 4 different shops were using it.. a total of at least 12 or more IP's.

When did they go back to just an email and password? Last I checked they locked the log in to a specific IP so that you couldn't just give out your credentials...

If you're willing to pay, maybe check out wirecolor.com
It's not exactly dirt cheap, but still an alternative.

Thats my last resort, I just don't like the vehicle token system they use. Because mostly I'm researching cars on directwire and don't want to waste tokens on that.

That is paying for usage either way. Why not just go direct with DEI and then you would have directechs

Because directechs is ridiculously priced. Even as a distributor dealer (I buy from an authorized distributor instead of Directed directly), the annual purchase requirement is WAY more than I could even imagine as a small dealer...

Well looks like im stuck with wirecolor. Does anyone have an account? Do existing vehicle tokens rollover when you do the 12month renewal? Im sure it does, but cant find the answer anywhere.

You can renew (refill) your tokens on Wirecolor at about 1/2 of the original cost of a subscription.

Say you purchase a gold plan at $199. This gives you 200 tokens that will never expire until you use them. This is $1.00 per vehicle.

To renew (refill) the gold subscription it only costs $99, which is half the cost of the initial plan. This is now $0.50 per vehicle.

You can keep doing this year-after-year as long as you renew within the 12 months.

How accurate is wirecolor? I did the trial thing a while ago and 4 out of the 5 cars I got in the trial were completely wrong. I have been using readyremote.com and it is rarely ever wrong (once in a blue moon... and even then it's just a different build date). The only downside is that it does not give you the 'extra' like defrost, clutch, etc.

Wirecolor isn't that bad. Doesn't give you in depth details like heated seats or sometimes not even the defrost. Lots of pics tho. I used to always use readyremote as it was a stripped down version of directwire but not their site doesn't even work anymore on the remote start diagrams, only security. I wonder if they are upgrading it or discontinuing it

Yeah what the heck is going on with Ready Remote. I used it 5 times in last week and now it has not been working the last 3 days. And I have found Audiovox tech services to be wrong almost all the time and there info is not detailed at all like readyremote.com
