Going to be installing a Viper 4204V Remote start to my 08 Honda Element.

The Element has a +12v 50amp constant white wire (thinking 8-10ga) at the key switch.

The Viper Remote Start has the following high amperage inputs:

+12v ig2/flex relay input 30a
+12v ig1 input 30a
+12v accessory/starter input 30a

and

+12v constant input on main harness

In reading various online posts it appears DIYers will splice the "heavy gague/high amp" Remote Start input wires and low-amperage constant input together (pick one of the input wires and splice each wire to that wire (making a total of 3 individual solder splices to one of the 10ga wires) and make a single solder splice connection to the +12v 50amp wire in the vehicle.

My questions are:

a)Is this how a pro would wire it?
b)Is the 10ga wire provided on the remote start sufficient given the amperage?

Thanks

The RED / White the Red and the RED / black wires from the 4204 can be connected to the White 12v wire in the ignition switch harness on the Element. The Pink wire from the 4204 goes to the BLACK/ yellow wire in the element, The Violet wire from the 4204 goes to the BLACK/ wire in the element, the Orange wire from the 4204 goes to the RED / Black wire on the element .all other wires on that remote start harness are taped up and tucked neatly away, they are not used on that car.

Thanks for the wire color information - I will be testing all my wires with my multimeter to verify what is what.

The question I'm really looking to get answered is how would you hook all those wires to the +12v white wire at the ignition. Would you splice each wire to it individually or would you splice the 3 remote start wires together and then make one splice to the white wire in the vehicle?

Thanks again.

What I usually do is cut the RED / black and RED / white wires splice them together then splice those two into the Red wire then take the Red wire and attach it to the 12v wire in the car and all wires are soldered off course. Hope this makes sense.
