I am installing remote starter in a 2008 pathfinder. I have a Clifford 4202X, with Fortin EVO-ALL bypass, I am trying to figure out what wires I need to use on the (H3) plug of the remote starter. The directions shows the following:
H3/1 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT H3/2 RED / WHITE +12V FUSED (30A) IGNITION 2/FLEX RELAY INPUT H3/3 ORANGE (+) ACCESSORY OUTPUT H3/4 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT H3/5 RED +12V FUSED (30A) IGNITION 1 INPUT H3/6 PINK/WHITE IGNITION 2/FLEX RELAY OUTPUT H3/7 PINK/BLACK FLEX RELAY INPUT 87a (IF REQUIRED) OF FLEX RELAY H3/8 RED / BLACK +12V FUSED (30A) ACCESSORY/STARTER INPUT
Can anyone please tell me the ones I need? Thanks in advance.

Kreg357,
I planned on using the D2D link, fortin Evo-all + Clifford 4202x in the 2008 pathfinder. Can you please explain the flex relay? What is meant by *** set the 4202x Flex relay out put to starter 2? (is this a option when programming it?) Any other tips are greatly appriciated. Trying to get this ready for my 1st install.
I am new, but I am interested in learning this. Thank you for your help!

Well, you picked an advanced install for your first job. There is a pretty big chunk of learning involved with this vehicle and the components you have chosen. You will need the 4202v Install guide, not the two page guide that comes in the box. Not a Clifford user but your unit might be similar to the Viper 5301.
Anyway, check out the Menu 3 Item 8 programming. This is how you select the type of output for the H3/6 Flex Relay. All the wire guide listings I checked show one Ignition wire, two Starter wires and two Accessory wires. The Clifford H3 harness can directly support only 4 of these vehicle wires. The extra external relay is used to power the 5th ignition wire, ACC2.
Next, D2D is nice ( if it works ) but there are 3 different communication protocols. The Clifford only supports the DEI DBI protocol. The standard firmware flash on the EVO-ALL only supports Fortin's Data-Link protocol. You will need the Fortin FlashLink USB cable and a PC with internet access with Fortins FlashLink Manager s/w to re-flash the EVO-ALL with the correct firmware setup for DEI's DBI D2D protocol.
You will learn plenty from this install, as there is much research involved. Additionally, you should have and be proficient in the use of a Digital Multi Meter and basic soldering. As you noticed the EVO-ALL install guide only shows a generic R/S system, both D2D and W2W type connections and the Type 3 Connections is for multiple vehicles. Additional help can be found by using the EVO-ALL's WireColor free vehicle card ( think they are still included in the box ) to get photo's, wire colors and locations from Fortin.
Might be best to make up a full wire to wire connection list ( like my H3 list ) for the install and post that for Forum member review and comment. An eager, willing to learn attitude along with research will help ensure a long lasting quality install. ------------- Soldering is fun!

I have been installing this,
I got the bypass to work, vehicle starts with key...
On the remote starter, the lock and unlock works fine
When I hit the remote start button, I get error 8 flashes.
Neutral safety switch... I have tried toggle switch on and off,
It is set to Automatic for transmission type..
What am I missing?
I have the relay wired in like described earlier and set to starter 2.
I am using the d2d, what am I missing??
I have the fortin set for D2D..
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I'm not a big Clifford user but there should be a neutral safety wire that needs to see ground. If it's automatic just ground the wire. If it's a standard then wire should go to the parking brake.
------------- If i Can't Install it I Don't need it Joe
