I am having some issues getting my 2009 Chevy Cobalt to start using the Bulldog RS82 kit. I am using the XK09 module to get past the security.

Currently when I try to remote start my car the accessories will turn on in the car, the hazard lights will start flashing (i've already programmed the starter, and the starter is not causing the hazards to flash, there is no clicking from the relay inside the starter), but a few seconds later when the car tries to turn over everything in the car turns off and nothing else happens. The RS is set for tachless mode.

I've programmed the XK09 successfully using my key and following the light blinks on the module.

I can start the car manually with the key. Placing the key in the ignition and trying to remote start fails also (I believe this is expected behavior because power gets cut from the signal reader by the security module).

I do NOT have the following connected:
RED / blue (-) RAP OFF
lock/unlock
trunk
door & trunk sense output
tach output
neutral safety (not needed per the
Here's the wiring diagram I'm using:

And the RS diagram I am using:

ANY help would be appreciated :)

Also, I did not do any firmware modifications to the XK09 unit. It said it would ship with the default GM image on it that works with most of the cars. Looking online it shows the latest firmware for my device was released in 2011, so it's probably the correct firmware.

Another update. I went out and got another bull dog unit, and a DB-ALL which I had flashed at the local bestbuy. After wiring everything up I still get the same response. Does anyone else have experience wiring these up to a cobalt?

You still have to ground the neutral safety wire for the remote start to work. By hazards flashing do you mean the parking lights flash once? Run shutdown diagnostics and see what you are getting? Hopefully you used a DMM to check your wires before connecting in to them.

I believe on that car you have to drop accessory during remote start
