I plan to install a remote start alarm in a 2005 subaru legacy. It has a factory alarm and immobilizer comfirmed by dealer via vin. I find it hard to believe that the customer / my boss lol will have to give up a key for in the box intall or purchase 2 flcan bypasses. Couldn't i just use 1 Flcan for immobilizer and wire everything up as usual and use disarm wire outputs to control factory anti theft.

You don't have to use 2 flcans. You can get away with just using 1 for the key. Everything else can be hardwired to the vehicle. There is a disarm wire at the BIU which is one of the biggest reasons people use 2 to keep the factory alarm intact and not falsing. Some of the newer subarus don't have that wire. If the car is a manual transmission I would consider using 2 flcans because it can be a real time saver. Also, if you are installing a remote start alarm, you could always put the Subaru's alarm into valet mode.
