I was wondering I'm doing an install 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I was noticing it is by no means a beginner installation for an alarm. But I am no means a beginner. I just do a lot of Hondas and Toyotas and there just usually straight hook ups. I'm just putting a standard alarm with just the basics with door locks. Is it just reverse polarity and do you have to take the door panels to get to door lock an unlock wires? Also I notice you have to put resistors on the lights. I never had to do that, but theres always a first. Just wondering if there are any tips for a fellow installer. Thank You very much and have a nice day.

The vehicle you are installing an alarm system on is "one of those vehicles". A real PITA. Personally, if it were me ( and I've done a few ), I would use a data module ( I use iDatalink products ). As you can see, it's not too much fun and it's a lot of parts. Take a look at this module, the XK531. It is out of production but can be found online ( EBay ) for a mere $15 delivered to your door. Just doesn't make sense to do it the hard way.

As for the Parking Lights, there are some interesting ways to do those. Try doing a search on that in this forum. It has been discussed in the past. The 1999 through 2004 G.C. models are the same.
