Hi all,

I am trying to install an Avital 2101L keyless entry system in my 1998 Honda Civic.

I am not sure how to wire the door locks, and and am hoping someone can assist.

On the Honda's keyless receiver 16-pin connector, I have:
B9: Unlock (all doors)
B10: Lock (output)

The Avital 2101L has the following connections:
H1/5 Lock #30 Common (Output)
H1/6 Lock #87A Normally Closed
H1/7 Lock #87 Normally Opened (Input)
H1/8 Unlock #30 Common (Output)
H1/9 Unlock #87 Normally Open (Input)

Can someone help me make the connections please?

Also, 12V is not available on this Honda connector. Can someone recommend the best place to grab it?

Thanks!

Here is the info for the H1/10 White Parking Light wire ( set to (+) output )   :

Thanks Kreg357!

Why didn't you use the two pins on the Honda that I listed?

Can you be more specific about where the blue plug is located?

The Blue Plug is located in the Drivers Kick Panel.  This is the area below the dash, left side, just in front of the drivers door.  This plastic panel might have a few fasteners holding it in place, but generally just pulls off.  Ideally, you should have a Digital Multi Meter to locate and verify these wires ( and all wires ) prior to making your connections.

For me doing a remote start w/keyless entry install, this location and these standard Type B door locks wires are easy to get at and exactly what the after-market system is designed to interface with.

Thanks!

Can I use the two pins I specified? I would prefer to use those because they are at the green connector that contains other connections. That green connector is the one that used to plug into the factory radio.

If I can use those two pins, would the connections be the same as you've specified?

Assuming the wire colors are the same and they test correctly with the DMM, you should be OK.  Here is the door lock info
from Audiovox, which seems to corroborate your info :

Power Unlock    GREEN/ ORANGE  (-) BEHIND RADIO "GREEN PLUG",  ABOVE FUSE BOX OR AT ANTI-THEFT MOD
PowerLock         GREEN / WHITE  (-)     BEHIND RADIO "GREEN PLUG",  ABOVE FUSE BOX OR AT ANTI-THEFT MOD

Thanks!

The wire colors are the same, so it looks like we are good.

Where is the Ignition Switch Harness ( for constant 12V) that you mentioned ?

The Ignition Switch Harness is plugged into the ignition switch.  You will probably have to remove the lower steering column cover if you can't identify this wire as it leaves the steering column and continues under the dash area.

Thanks!

Do you know if the constant 12V can be picked up at the factory alarm connector?

Do you have a pin out for that connector? It is green and is located in the area behind that radio.
