Just installed a avital 4103 remote start system on my 2001 dodge ram, after getting everything wiring in, everytime i hook up the power wire to the battery it trys to start, it cranks over but does not fire. Ive checked the wires multiple times and cant find whats messed up. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Did you hook up a transponder? Sounds like one is needed. To test, put the key in the ignition cylinder (keep it in the lock position) and try to remote start. If it starts, you need a transponder.

I cant even try that because the very second i touch the positive battery cable to the battery the engine starts cranking over

Pull all the fuses on the heavy gauge wires before reconnecting the battery.
The system might be stuck in remote start mode. Try to disable it when you reconnect the battery. Also, double check your wires and make sure they're connected to the right wires at the ignition.

If you put the fuses back in, it'll probably try to start again.
Try checking the wires and make sure the remote start is turned off. Avital systems have a memory and will resume their last known state if power is disconnected.

Ive checked the wires and all the ignition wires are right, i guess im not sure how to shut the remote start off, but even with the hoodpin up it still trys to start, i thought the whole point of it is to keep it from starting?

The hood pin will turn off remote start and trigger the alarm.
Does the starter start flying as soon as the cable is touched to the battery, or does it wait about 5 seconds?

It sounds like a defective remote start unit. If you pull the fuses and it doesn't try to start, it's definitely the remote start.

You could try to hit the brake pedal, assuming the brake wire is connected, to see if that cancels the remote starter from attempting to start.
Could be that the remote starter is still seeing a command to start and has not been canceled. Just a thought.

I tryed hitting the brake pedal, but it didnt stop it from trying to start, if you pull the fuses it does not try to start so i guess im gonna try to have them send me a different module

So i got bored and checked the wires again and the only wires im questioning are the 4 wires in what they call the satellite harness, the instructions say
(-) 200mA accessory output
 (-) 200mA starter output
 (-) 200mA ignition output
Would these wires tie in to the appropriate main ignition wires or somthing else?

We need you to list your wire connection for your 4103 and any bypass module installed so that we have a better idea of what might be happening.
