Hey Guys,
I installed my Viper 5906 and DBALL2 about 3 weeks ago, and I am having a weird issue. Twice now (out of about 50 remote starts) the Dball has failed to disarm the oem alarm when i remote start the car, causing the factory alarm to go off and it will not stop until i use the oem fob to disarm it. The DBALL is using the data network to do the factory arm/disarm because the install instructions did not call for the lock/unlock wires from the viper to be physically connected, I am wondering if I can solve this issue by physically connecting the lock/unlock wires from the viper to the correct wires in the car, or if this would screw up the DBALL somehow since it is also trying to do the lock and arm/disarm commands at the same time.

Maybe I should clarify so someone can chime in, I am thinking about disonnecting the DBALL from the cars door lock mux wire, and hard wiring the Vipers lock and unlock wires to the arm/disarm wires in the car, should that solve my problem or is the DBALL actually recieving inputs from the door lock mux wire and this might screw that up?

I saw this issue before in a Jeep, and the only way I could fix it is to set the Smart OEM Alarm Control feature to Safelock or Disabled. For some reason, it seems the DBALL2 intermittently sends the disarm signal.

Hmm, that sounds like a good idea, can I turn that off with my bitwriter or do i have to do it when i flash the dball install?

You can turn it off (in the DBALL) by programming the feature (see pg. 9 in the installation manual, feature #4)
