This is my first post, very excited and thank for any help in advance.

I recently installed viper 5701 to my 2010 Honda Odyssey, with DBALL and D2D.
Everything seems working now except the remote start. Every time I press the remote start button, I can see that:

1) the car panel display turns on, like when the key turns to the "on" position
2) I can hear some steady "Mmmm" sound, but not the cranking sound. so not start up.
3) The panel display will shut off after 10+s, and then repeat the same thing for another 2 times.
4) the "f" button of the remote control flash once with some sound.

Anyone might know what's wrong?

Thanks!

Did you power all of the heavy gauge red wires on the viper? Did you run a tach wire? If you are relying on d2d tach signal, try hardwiring it between the viper and the dball then program signal to viper again. The 5x01 platform vipers didn't always play nice when going D2D.

Thanks dasbogie for your reply!

Yes I powered all the heavy gauge red wires on the viper.

I didn't run a tach wire, assuming that it will be taken care by the d2d. Based on dball manual, the tach wire is only required with w2w.

My understanding from your reply is the above info is valid, but 5x01 platform vipers might not work correctly sometimes, that's why need to still hardwire to be safe?

I will try your suggestion to hardwire between viper and dball. what do you mean "program signal to viper again"?

Thanks!

Did you try the Shutdown Diagnostics to see why it shut down?
Also any flashes from the parking lights to indicate why no start?

Thank you for the reply.

I tried the shut-down diagnosis, the LED flashed 9 times, I checked the manual and it says it's "low battery", however I can start the car no problem if using the key.

The LED also flashed 4 times once in between the 9-time flashes, followed by a 5-time flash. don't know if it means anything.
