working on a 2009 jeep liberty and installing a python 5303 r/s alarm and also have a dei dball using firmware 401.chrysler v5.06.01 and I am installing this with the installation type 3c

using d2d

python 5303 i need to hook up
12+
ground
parking lights +
neutral safety switch
hood pin
ignition output + what color and where is this????
do I need to do the high current relays? this is the only place i can find + ignition output

dball
rap off
both multiplex output
hscan high
hscan low

I hate to say this but i have installed 100's of remote starts and or alarms. but this was over a decade ago when i did this professionally. this thing is just about to put me over the edge

i already installed this went through the programing of the dball it took it and the only thing i could get to work was arm and disarm with light flash. no door locks no remote start. so i went through the programing again with the uploader then the processes of plugging in the harness in order and the dball smoked...

i took everything out and now i am sitting here.. do you think i had a bad dball and where is ignition out on the python...

Install for a 2010 Liberty:

Are you saying the DB-ALL is toast? Not familiar with the python 5303. Is it the same as Avital 5303?

I did look over the 2010 liberty with the pics it did help me get started but didn't answer my question with the python 5303 which is identical to the avital 5303.

a new dball is on its way. I did toast the one i have. Which i have no idea how it smoked.

Ouch, it's hard to believe a bypass module is bad out of the box. Can you list the connections you have made already?

Perhaps you could list the connections you made from the Python, the car, and the DB-ALL.

remote start i connected these
h1/2 red to 12+
h1/5 black to -
h1/11 white to WHITE/ purple (jumper is set for 12+)
h3/1 BLACK/ white to ground
4 pin connector to dball
could not find a + ignition output (still looking for it)

from the dball i connected these
yellow/black to driver door pin (purple)
the 4 pin connector to remote start
used the chthd2 r9 harness
nothing else was used

round 2 when the new dball shows up i am hard wiring the hscan and multiplex wires to the dball didn't like the way the chthd2 looked all crammed up in there and extra wires hanging off it not being used

You need to have all your heavy gauge 12v inputs connected to 12v. They power the relays inside the Avital unit for starter, acc and ignition outputs. The smaller red 12v powers your p. lights and locks etc.

And btw the heavy gauge pink on the avital is your ignition output it's the wire that is going to tie into the vehicles ignition wire.

you know as soon as you said power to the main relays it clicked with me I should have hooked power up to the remote starter relays which would have gave me my power out of the ignition.

this just sucks I have to hook up these relays just to get ignition output. but it still is a lot easier these days to do r/s then it was.

thank you all for your help.

anyone in the market for a smoked dball? looks new but smells bad
