I am trying to install a remote starter in a 2007 Ford E450 diesel. I am trying to find the best place to hook up the tach wire. Thank you.

There is a wire chase and cover on the inside of the firewall just to the left of the brake pedal. The cover can be removed, exposing the ~4" vertical run of wires. When I did the RS in my 99 F250SD, I found both the tach and wait to start in this bundle, and to my surprise they were both on top, with little 'digging' required. I believe your 07 F450 has the same wiring architecture.

EDIT: I'm sorry. I Noticed you have an 07 Econoline. I have no experience with 92-up Econoline, only the trucks. I'll leave this info up, perhaps it will give you an idea of what to look for. A main chase of wires that is between the PCM and the Inst cluster in a location that you can open up and dig in for what you need.
