I connected a Viper 4704 with DBALL2 to a 2012 Honda Odyssey. I used the W2W method and connected the locks wires to the DBALL2.   The lock button works when all doors are closed but not when you have a door open. If a door is open and you hit lock it will beep and the control will flash 3 lights.

Keep in mind that on my factory key fob lock does not work at all when doors are open, only when they are closed.   Can anyone explain what is going on here? Should i be able to lock my doors when i have a door open?   Thanks in advance

No there's a cut-out when the doors are opened and/or a key is left in the ignition (keysense).

Ok, great. so this is expected to work. When i hit lock with the door open i notice that my remote says it is locked but in reality it is not.   Any reason for this ?

That's because it acknowledged you've locked it but maybe you haven't connected a door trigger?
Does the 4704 need a door trigger, may be the DB-ALL isn't giving you one and you need to hardwire it.

Out of interest is this a trick question?
Why on earth would you want to press the lock button when the doors are open anyway?

The DBALL has a Door Status wire and I hooked that up to the status output wire on the the Viper box.   Now that i am thinking about this, should the door status wire from the DBALL be connected to the door trigger input?

This is not a trick question. I know that on my car that has remote start i can click lock when the door is open and it will beep. Then once it detects the door is closed then i locks automatically.

Door status wire either ignore if D2D, connect to green NEG (-) door trigger input on R/S.
And that's your answer.

actually i am already hooked up like this

Viper H2/6 Green Wire (- door input) : DBALL2 GREEN / WHITE (-) Door Status Output.

Does this sound right?   Also should the remote tell me when the doors are open? I am not seeing that.

Check to see that wire goes to ground when a door is opened.
