Hello! I have a 1994 Grand Marquis, and I was wondering if there was a product available on the market (preferably for not too much) that would allow the activation of an immobilizer IF and ONLY IF the vehicle drives within a certain boundary. I want the car to shut off if it enters a certain neighborhood, and not be able to start it back up unless towed OUT of that area. Is this possible? If so, how, and how much would it cost to have it installed/do it myself?

That is not available to the public.

While the technology exists, it works in a different way, with a cellular signal to shut it down, manually.

You could incorporate the tech, but use an iPhone hidden in the vehicle with the tracking enabled. Use a PC to monitor the location of the iPhone, and have the program dial the immobilizer to shut it down once it enters any target zone.

All in all, can it be done? YES, with the money, and technical know how; by you? No... THe saying goes, if you have to ask, you can't do it.

Powerslave is right there are also specialised traffic devices with geo fencing, the software can alert to manually disable the vehicle but only after it has been stopped (starter).
Been around for years Lojack etc.

Test before boxing up.
