Hey,

I am going to be installing an alarm and remote start in my 69 Camaro. I have a good understanding of the wires I will need to hook up. However, what I don't quite understand are the differences between the new alarm models and the older ones. I was looking into getting the viper 5701 and correct me if i am wrong but the Viper 5806V is the replacement for this alarm. I plan on getting the Smart Start module too. The 5701 is about $120 cheaper than the 5806V. The only differences I can see are the remotes are a little different and the range at which the remotes can interface with the alarm are different-the 5806V having a longer distance. Are there any more differences between the two?

Thanks

The wiring looms are slightly different but that's it.
Same colours and functions except 2nd. lock wire on the 5701 but on different plugs.

Test before boxing up.

Thanks for your reply. Yes it will be fuel injected. I'm putting an LS1 in there.
