I've installed a Viper 5204 2way and a 457G. Everything works except for the remote start. For some reason, the wire colors from the directed tech sheet that I have do not match up with what I am seeing in the vehicle. 1st ignition should be a heavy gauge pink. I found two wires that test correctly for ignition (constant 12 through crank): 16 gauge pink and heavy gauge orange. 2nd ignition should be white but there is no white wire in the car. I found a heavy gauge yellow routed to back of fuse box with the heavy orange and brown wires (accessories I assume, but maybe not in this car) that holds 12 volts through cranking. Could this be the 2nd ignition? I think that the ignition was altered or replaced given the different wire colors and the blue electric tape connections for the passkey (that didn't seem factory). I took pics but its alot going on in the dash and kinda hard to make out.

1. I need to find the ignition wires in the truck.
2. Need to confirm that the 3wire ignition harness on the 457G needs to be used?
3. Verify that the following alarm connections are correct:
Viper Heavy Gauge Red and RED / White to constant 12 volts
Viper Heavy Gauge Pink to 1st ignition
Viper heavy gauge pink/white to 2nd ignition
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Supposedly the 2003 through 2006 GMC Yukon's are the same.  Here is a Pictorial on that truck with pictures taken from a 2003 Yukon Denali.

Hopefully it matches your vehicle.

1: Ignition wires.

Those cars really all are the same, so the wires you want should definitely be in there.

Sometimes the white Ignition 2 wire gets sort of discolored (or should we say colored?) from age and look somewhat yellow instead of pure white.

TIP: Looking at your instrument cluster, insert the key and turn it forward just a tiny, tiny bit. See the "battery" icon light up? That's coming from the power on that white wire. You haven't even turned the key far forward enough to play the radio, and the Ignition wire is already on----very different from other cars.

So, when you're testing the wire in the car, look for the same pattern. It'll show positive voltage after just bumping the key slightly forward from the Off position, and all the way through Accessory, Run, and Start.

In the main steering column harness, you'll see all the thick wires bundled together, coming down from where the steering wheel is. Then, about half of them continue straight down the steering column, but then the other half of them branch off to the left, heading in the direction of the fuse box. Hopefully that'll give you an idea of where they are.

2: 457G.

I don't really know much about this module. It was late to market when it came out nearly ten years ago, and I don't believe it sold very well. I think I helped someone troubleshoot one, but I never got to do an installation.

However, the installation guide shows that 3-pin connector being used for cars with PassKey III, and a list of applicable cars. Your car has Passlock II, which is a different system, and is not on the list. So you shouldn't need to connect this part.

Ok. Thanks so much for the responses. I am troubleshooting this car today and will definitely use you all's  suggestions.

You guys are awesome. Kreg, the pics were great, exact wire locations. Chris, the tip was cool. I have done Yukons before but never knew that. Thanks for your help. I guess the wires actually did fade. Ist ignition was more orange looking than pink and 2nd ignition was more yellow looking than white, but that was it. Peace
